Front derailleur pulley
I've never been a fan of the big black plastic pulleys for converting a bottom pull FD to a top pull on a cross bike. For the past six plus years I have been using sealed pulleys like this:
McMaster Carr part# 6384K343
I add a bronze bushing like this:
McMaster Carr part# 6338K311
Then I chuck the bearing into a little fixture I made and groove the outer race with a Dremel cutting wheel.
It isn't anything major or ground breaking but I think it looks better and works better. I have been using the same bearing for years with no problems with cable jumping the tracks or the bearing seizing up.
The only difference is I now use an M6 button head bolt. The end result is:

Re: Front derailleur pulley
That's a great way to do it!
On frame #1, I built it around a shimano IG rear hub and added this to the side. it's brass pulley from some '80's MTB brakes that I had in the bottom of my toolbox. I created a little brass bushing that it sits on so there's something between the threads of the bolt and the part that moves. It worked well with the IG hub. I took that off and added a rear derailleur tab and now it works great with a SRAM 10sp set up.BBPulley.jpg
