No on ribs although they do look good. Yes on architecture.

Thanks, that is our living room, it has wood paneling. In the abstract I like the clubby paneled look but a lot of our furniture is wood and it blends in alot. Note how you can sort of make out the grandfather clock back there. We are thinking of painting it, which I would not consider if the wood was of higher quality. But if you look closely you can see that the grain is pretty wild.
I would not want paneling like this in a kitchen, it would be a pain to clean.
Thanks, new house or old? I like the deconstructed tee your kid is wearing.

it's a hundred year old house although I suspect a lot of the paneling is newer. 100 year old lumber looks nicer than newer lumber -- tighter grain.
I love the shirt, can't believe I got him to wear it because he usually refuses to wear anything that is not a plain gray t shirt!
Supper for busy saturday. Grilled lamb steak, braised home grown russian kale, roasted homegrown San Marzano tomatos, Iggy's sourdough baguette.

Amazing. Did I give you that Bluefish recipe? My family has made that since I was a kid. Hands down a winner.

You sure did. Had to improvise a bit but it all worked out well. Stripers we caught maxed out at 25" so they all went back in. Kept a bluefish as I knew that I'd be able to do this with it. It was a home run.
Made some Apple Blueberry Crisp for folks today. Gone before it even had a chance to cool.
First time I've been able to cook for myself since I broke my collar bone. Cooking in a sling/with my non-dominant hand definitely isn't ideal, but the final product tasted so much better. Fresh tomatoes, oil, basil, garlic, salt, pasta (duh), that's it. Arguably 3 ingredients. Definitely could've finished with some parm, but the shoulder wasn't feeling quite up to the task after 9 hours in a classroom today.

Some lazy roast chicken and veg on a rainy Tuesday.
Carrot, new potato, garlic, red onion, spiced olives, lemon, all roasted with white wine with oil-rubbed chicken on top. Later, chicken removed, cream, flour, dijon, tarragon whisked in with the veg, and all re-roasted a bit longer.
Good smells.
As our daughter is headed off to the left coast in a couple of days, her wishes have been my command as they say. When the girl asked for filet tonight, I stopped at one of the two butchers that we frequent and asked for a good cut. Everything else was leftover as that's what usually happens at the RW house on Wednesdays. Grilled filet, broccoli, mixed pasta, heirloom tomatoe salad and grilled naan, paired with a nice Pinot Noir from the Willamette Valley.
Btw, the butcher bought this 80 year old business a few years ago and there is a two story smokehouse in the back of the shop. Part of the purchase agreement included the secret kielbasa recipe...cool stuff. The motto essentially is loosely translated as "The meat to the people."

Doesn't get much better.

Roasting plum tomatoes. Home grown thyme, salt, pepper a drizzle of olive oil. 2.5 hours in a 265 degree oven. Bag and freeze when cool... It so concentrates the flavor, the perfect addition to a sauce, a frittata or a pizza...

TT....apples? As they would surely go week with the bacon. Mrs. RW would wear arugula in her hair if she could...she loves it on everything.
