Am I totally off base and have been missing something in that setback posts are for the aesthetic elite? I'm serious in that I really don't know. ... Please educate this moron.

I must say...we are on the same side of line. I never found non-setback posts do not look "good"...I mean like else have said, fit is one thing, look is another, but where does the "setback" in the post stand? I don't think there is a "correct" answer for this...and if I'm incorrect, I claim to be moron #2

What cranks are you running? I like 'em and I want to find a nice, classic looking set of cranks with a 110BCD.

Everyone has their own interpretation of a visually perfect bike, but when I saw Tony selling his Oregon Manifest bike in the classified section... I knew it was perfect to me. Basically that's all I care about.

    Enjoy your bike!

Sugino XCD cranks on the Toei, as Hiroshi spec'd. Nice, simple, classic, suits the bike, work just fine.

It is- and I don't pretend it would fit most folks. I have funny legs and long arms- this bike fits me very well and is a pretty neutral feel. The saddle isn't really in front of the bb (the back end is lifted in the photo). I spent a lot of time on the nose of my saddle on 73* ST's before I started slowly sneaking things forward.

We all have our own canons of beauty. Anyone with half an IQ point can set up a bike so it looks good, as if a sculpture, but riding it that way is another matter entirely.

    AAAKK!

I'm now sporting a setback post and my saddle is of the proper tilt boys and girls. New picture coming when I retape the bars (but no longer have those wheels).

    RIP.
This one was wrecked and it's not likely there will be others in carbon quite like this.
It'd be better if it didn't appear as if the saddle were tilted. Level it is.

Mined from the depths of a three year old post on the serotta forums, thanks be to swoop.

"Etiology of the term Gay Bar"

a flat bar is also called a straight bar. its common in mtn biking and city bikes.

a classic bar is sometimes called a belgian drop or a classic bar.

an anatomic bar is sometimes commonly called a gay bar. you see, it is the opposite of a straight bar.

    its a play on words.

    ....

I'm sick of this gay/ghey shit. Would we banter around racial epithets in place of homophobic terms?

Each of Garro's bikes are unique. I rode with kpomtb this past summer in the Gila and this is his custom Coconino. The curvy top tube flows nicely into the seat stays. Good looking bike in my opinion.
