I finally bought the Alabama Shakes records.
Boys & Girls is pretty great, a really well done throwback to the heydays of Janis and even Aretha.
But Sound & Color? Holy God they've synthesized every thing from the first records and moved on through the 70s, 80s, 90s, 00s, and landed right smack dab in the middle of today. It's fucking brilliant.
GO!

Perfect jams for today's rainy afternoon indoors. SWV, 'It's about time.' I had no idea about pop music in 1992 at all, but that was an era when I played a lot of basketball in the driveway with older friends who had boomboxes and I'm sure this was in the rotation.
