Oh! I thought both my issues around this were strength related, in fact I'm sure they are.

I agree, Michael, and I was reading the thread from a similar perspective. That is, until I realized the entire thread is worthless without pictures of Shoney's grandma at 25.

Comfort and efficiency fly out the window on a hill like that.......it becomes survival

Correct. I will say though that they have used roads like that for TTs in the Giro in recent years and guys like Contador make it look easy. How? (besides having the power-to-weight ratio of Contador...) Using compacts to keep the legs spinning.

But yeah, that whole day was kind of a death march after the first gravel climb.

Hope to see you there and I hope to be 25 lbs lighter next time around.

    its just a fuckin bike

ride it, don't talk about it

I want to talk about the dancing dog I saw on the web. fuckin amazing and kind of hot in a weird way. If I was a dog -- which I'm not -- I'd hit this (so no, don't worry, I'm not going to hit it, that's gross)

Holy cow, that wasn't what I was expecting when I opened this thread and went over to the first pages...

Comfortable/uncomfortable, let's just call it the easy way out... if I read one more Facebook post from someone who wants to lose 20 lbs, and hasn't started doing it already, with all his friends telling him to just read "4-Hour Body", I'm going to blow a gasket. I've stopped asking casual biking friends if they want to go for ride at their pace because their answer is invariably that they can't wake up at 8:00 am on a Saturday.

Sometimes though I roll out and hit the first overpass and I just want to turn around but I know it'll feel better later.

I agree with the golf thing. I suck but I know I suck and that I need lessons. I think that's the point.

As for being fat because you can't cycle, I think there are better ways to stay in shape when you can't be on the bike, because they generally consume less time and require less preparation. I'll probably never race and I even wonder if I'll always be cycling regularly, only because I know I may not always be able to primarily rely on it for fitness.

I loved it. Not as much as the famous Honey Badger narrated by Randall, but it's pretty close.

Dude, sorry late to the game as usual. Don't think our relationship is ready to take it to a PM, scared to go non-public with ya...kinda imagine it's like being locked a room with a honey badger.

And I've never dated a girl who cared about my vo2max or power output. (Well- yeah- but less numbers and more of a demonstration).
And anyone who thinks they're a 32" waist because that's what the label on their jeans reads needs to visit a tailor and have their heart broken.

You guys are so 'core. Started off well, but now his thread kinda makes me sick.
Ah yes, American vanity sizing. I'm talking a real 35" not the 32" that the label says. Oh, and I'm a huge fan of CEGO, but that's another thread. I also just had a three bites of ice cream. And, I love Karen Carpenter near the end, not the beginning.

Fair enough I'm not ready for another relationship now. I need my own space. You understand.

It's all in this epic thread; read it if you're not sensitive.

    Rrr.
