Correct. I will say though that they have used roads like that for TTs in the Giro in recent years and guys like Contador make it look easy. How? (besides having the power-to-weight ratio of Contador...) Using compacts to keep the legs spinning.
But yeah, that whole day was kind of a death march after the first gravel climb.
Hope to see you there and I hope to be 25 lbs lighter next time around.
its just a fuckin bike
ride it, don't talk about it
I want to talk about the dancing dog I saw on the web. fuckin amazing and kind of hot in a weird way. If I was a dog -- which I'm not -- I'd hit this (so no, don't worry, I'm not going to hit it, that's gross)

Holy cow, that wasn't what I was expecting when I opened this thread and went over to the first pages...
Comfortable/uncomfortable, let's just call it the easy way out... if I read one more Facebook post from someone who wants to lose 20 lbs, and hasn't started doing it already, with all his friends telling him to just read "4-Hour Body", I'm going to blow a gasket. I've stopped asking casual biking friends if they want to go for ride at their pace because their answer is invariably that they can't wake up at 8:00 am on a Saturday.
Sometimes though I roll out and hit the first overpass and I just want to turn around but I know it'll feel better later.
I agree with the golf thing. I suck but I know I suck and that I need lessons. I think that's the point.
As for being fat because you can't cycle, I think there are better ways to stay in shape when you can't be on the bike, because they generally consume less time and require less preparation. I'll probably never race and I even wonder if I'll always be cycling regularly, only because I know I may not always be able to primarily rely on it for fitness.
See now that dog proves that being skinny is important.
Best video of 2010 and maybe for 2011!!!!
Not Riding!
I loved it. Not as much as the famous Honey Badger narrated by Randall, but it's pretty close.
If you can't suffer then you will never improve.
