What I love about that picture is that the bike is used hard with zero f's given.

Good buddy long time brother from another Adnan Kadir made a video.

If I were to create a library of NFS application videos Adnan’s “thin stream” method would fall distinctly under graduate level course work. *If* you have a very stready hand and allow the stream of NFS to ribbon onto the chain for one revolution that is equal to about 8 or ten drops. Infact, Adnan’s method is bar none the most effective way to apply the stuff. That said, it is not for everyone and the 10 to twelve drops “anywhere” on the chain and run it in works everytime and is a failsafe method.
Adnan is a heck of a good mechanic and we are on the same page.
FWIIW I got the thin stream method from Tom Kellogg and who would ever contradict the master? The answer is one person and she reserves judgement ;}

Hey Josh,
I'm almost through my last bottle of the NFS x Silca lube. What's the difference between that and current formulation?

When you're back from the beach, it's important to vacuum the sand from your chariot and to rinse the sand from your bathing suit and beach chairs. It's also important to lube those friction points on the beach chairs with NFS...Nothing (but) Fun (in the) Sun.

When Mrs. RW asks me to trim the unruly birch limbs, NFS gets an assist on the play.

Application question - what is the best method for removal of 'packing grease' from a new chain prior to applying NFS?
Been using NFS for years, both the original and biodegradable version, NFS NE+. Recently applied NFS NE+ to a KMC chain that I'd wiped down extensively with 90% rubbing alcohol and rags to remove the packing grease then applied NFS per instructions. One ride later, the chain was covered with a sticky film unlike anything I'd experienced before. However, on a new Shimano chain this same method worked fine.
My best guess is the biodegradable NFS reacted with the remaining KMC grease (whatever that may be). Perhaps the ethanol was the culprit? Have limited workspace so an ultrasonic cleaner is not an option. The obvious solution is to not use KMC chains but curious what happened here.
I have been told the OG grease on there is wonderful and fine to leave on. I, too, use KMC and have just waited until the chain was first dry to apply my NFS. Have noticed no such difficulties.
Maybe TT can wade in to help, though. He once caught wind that I was using a degreaser to clean muddy chains and told me to instead use dawn dish liquid if my chain was that dirty.
I understand that Dura Ace chains are made by Izumi, but the lower level Shimano chains are supplied by KMC, in which case, I wouldn't be surprised if the factory lube is identical for KMC and non-DA Shimano chains.
Anyway, I leave the chain in a tub of degreaser for a few hours, shaking / moving the chain around a couple of times, then hang it to dry. After installing the chain, I apply NFS.
Alcohol doesn't really do much to break down the lube.
