One of the first Depeche Mode songs I ever heard, and still one of my favorites.

Two Tone was a great label. The This are Two Tone compilation is one of my favorite records of all time. I purchased it new back in the day. When CDs started replacing vinyl, I ditched most of my albums including This are Two Tone. As you can see from my posting last year, I got it back in the house. Madness Absolutely was one of the records I kept (Stiff Records import) and I listen to it often....

I saw The Beat (again) in Durango at the Ska Brewing anniversary party last year. What a great show! Skanked my ass off.

I saw Melt Banana at the Georgia amphitheater, they opened for Mr. bungle. I had never heard of them, they were the noise. Played about 60 songs in 30 minutes. But nothing about them sounded at all Ska, at that time.

After the show I rode around with mike Patton in the back of a rental box truck drinking beer and being thrown all over the place. Excellent choice

That sounds like an awesome time! Melt Banana is definitely not any one sound for certain... Charlie was pure experimental power violence noise stuff and awesome, everything since then has been all over the place in the best way possible. Haven't gotten to see them live yet... Threeoneg was such a fun label too. They had that Queen tribute album that had M.B., The Blood Brothers, Das Oath Weasel Walter... so ridiculous. M.B. did this song and it's perfect:

    TURN UP YOUR BASS!!

Threeoneg did put out a couple of Paper Mice's albums more recently, hope they keep on that path.
