After riding in the woods, I stopped by Turco's (local grocery w/lots of good prepared food to go).

Gallon of milk, lots of bananas, calzones and meatballs.

Still in cycling gear, I am asked "Are you really riding in this weather?"

Guy next wonders how I am going to ride with all the stuff I'm buying...explain that the mtb is in the mini-van and I rode in the woods.

We really do - it's like 80 now I think. Good thing our polar vortex only lasted a day. People were wearing toques and down jackets INSIDE the coffee shop (it was colder inside than outside).

Best part about this cold snap in New England - people were still ordering iced coffee at the local shop and my better half came home from the supermarket with ice cream the other day.

They build special thermostat units for Florida. No off switch. It would never be needed.

78 yesterday, 80 today. But Hawaiian radio says there were record lows in both Honolulu and Hilo...

And the road to the top of Mauna Kea has been closed by snow all week, which truly is a bummer since I won't get up there with my daughter before we have to head back to home frigid home.
