Took a ride this afternoon to see what I could see. 24 miles in 3 hours, so slow going. Crews did a great job on the roads around here.

I do love a good snowstorm. Hope you're all making it through with a minimum of damage (including the self-inflicted type).

All those photos of Boston? Ditto. This is the sheltered side of our house, the snow touching the top of the fence:

A quiet day here. Laundry, shoveling, drinking, music, reading. We'd planned to host dinner for friends from Scituate, Salem and Needham. Instead we had our next-door neighbors, whose talkative 20-month-old made my day.

Very cold, but very sunny right now. The snow plastered on our windows is beginning to melt off, and I'm seeing bursts of powder blow off the roofs every couple minutes. We were planning on meeting friends in Cambridge for brunch, but with the T shut down and our neighborhood streets unplowed, we're going to hunker down for another day.

Maybe some snowshoeing up the hill in our park later today?

Days like that are the best days. Just relax, let the plows do their thing, enjoy the peace and quiet!

For this morning's commute parking was still an issue for both four-wheeled and two-wheeled beast alike. Dropped my lock on the snow which meant the mechanism filled with ice.

Two last photos. From Sunday afternoon:

Monday morning, after the plows and backhoes finally moved some snow:

It should just get better from here.
    GO!
