this is great . please keep them coming!

Unfortunately, yes, but that defense of egalitarian whiffishness is best reserved for another thread, the posting equivalent of silently and heavily farting at a party, then quickly leaving the crowded room.
as for bags n'shit,
I present an example in opposition- regard, Pantani made into visual ass:
I nominate Musgrave to go back and "fix the glitch" with some earlier posts. This isn't about utilitarian. My commuter bike is kick-ass, but I would have no business posting it here. My Civic is my pride and joy, but aesthetics?
Nice job increasing the ratio of bikes that belong here.
And please, nor more of these handlebar disasters. The words compact and anatomical don't belong in front of handlebar. Shallow and deep do.

Life is too short to grow up, go ride a bicycle!
Ever see a cow run to the barn to be milked? That's kinda what bikes with huge seatbags look like when they are being sprinted in the town line sprints. It's inelegant. And nobody needs to carry most of the stuff that's in those huge bags.
I just have a tube/c02/lever wrapped up with a rubber band and drop it in my jersey pocket.
personally I don't find the thread all that convincing . . . I mean, a "proper" bike visually? is there a proper human cyclist visually? maybe in the peloton or something, but that's like saying most people should look like Michaelangelo's David. They just don't, that's all, no biggie . . .
However, when I see bikes like that Zanc and that Crumpton, I have to admit they look just incredibly right . . .
It's funny, I've been looking at my bike and not liking the way it looks. It's not the giant seat bag though -- to me, bags are ephemera. When I look at a bike the bags disappear. Seat mounted water bottles, OTOH....
I see a bike with no bags at all and wonder if it is being ridden. At least the Bianchi looks like it is seeing some miles, and the position looks good. Granted, there is something wrong with the way that seat bag is installed.
Guys. Is this really a pro-saddlebag argument within a thread entitled "visually proper bikes"? Wow.
Here's a stylish (read: less like a fanny pack or cell phone belt clip) way to get a little more pack room. . . but hopefully at that point you're carrying a change of clothes or lunch for the both of us.
That Toei is a nice looking bike, but that bag doesn't look right. If you have some sort of anti-bag fetish, bags come off in a few minutes. Then when you're done with that pointless aesthetic exercise, you can put the bag back on and ride.
An elegant solution on the Toei.
For the rest of you:
Not quite proper but it's a work in progress.
This bike stopped me in my tracks, a perfect blend of new and old.
