something tells me that Grant burns through rags. in fact, i'd say shop rags are to Grant, what fur balls are to the cat lady.

the racks shown are the first two i ever built, probably took me 30 hours - but i got it figgered out.

Thinking we should stop this thread cause it makes me feel like less of a man and, frankly, I'm just jealous.

thanks. It's about 52 x 55 top tube and it rides really nice.
I bought it from a gentleman from the UK who sold it through
the Classic Rendezvous list. I bet it doesn't have 500 miles on it.
The serial number shows it's from 82 and the grouppo has all
date codes from 82, so I think it's all original, except for the saddle.

By coincidence one of my Harry Quinn bikes was a 52 x 55. Man if that one ever goes in the chopping block let me know.

That Raleigh is the one that really gets to me. As an early teen in 1982 I was racing on an entry level Japanese bike and a guy in my town had one of those. I so wished I had something as cool. Good thing I didn't as I was crashing and learning the ropes and it would have been very much worse for the wear. Still it was like staring at a supercar. It's beautiful Grant.

Yeah that TI Raleigh was THE bike to last after in my teenage years.... I waited with great anticipation every thursday for 'Cycling Weekly' to come out so I could check the pictures.
Raleigh made cheaper replicas of the 531 framed bike, (didn't have 'professional' written on it.....I think that was the model name)one of which, a friend used to beat me in races on, I always swore it was the clour of the frame which made him faster(red bikes are aren't they?).

Great to see those pics and to think it's original and in that condition!
