I don't know what it is, but for me, stuff I build myself has a magic to it that is worth what sometimes ends up being an absurd amount of time and money.

For me, soldering is therapy. i know I'm not the fastest tech out there, and while I'm obsessively anal I'm not quite "meticulous" in the professional sense...but when I'm soldering I'm in a different world, a peaceful, quiet, focussed world

Just finished the cabinet + put a Jenson C12K in it.
I have a Jet City JCA20HV on the way.

    Beautiful cabinet! Cool project.

I just had an ampiphany: local guy was selling a Roland Cube 15x for $40, so I picked it up for my daughter, so she could have a small amp for her room. Man, this thing is hands down the best $40 I've ever spent on music stuff. Going back to previous posts, I like the really whooshy distortion of the Fender solid states, and this has several levels of that. I'm actually keeping an eye out for the 80w version of the Cube; that impressive. I had a JC120 for a while, and while it was cool, it was a beast in terms of size, and all it really did well was clean/chorus. I didn't even like the chorus after a while. The Cube is a different beast. Anybody else playing one?
