Yeah, it was more than MSC charges.
Oh and it looks like millvices.com does not carry the 4" anymore.
MSC would be the choice now.

I'm sure the Bison is a better vise, it's going to be more than an "interstate"

I now remember last year Millvices.com saying something like they were discontinuing the 4".
The Interstate sure does look like the Bison, re-branding? Looks like the same picture.

The thing is that anything bigger then the 4" and you have to bolt it to a fucking gigantic rotary table, and thusly to a giant mill table......

Here's my $20 China special. Actually works pretty good for stuff at home. The good stuff is at work some are new most are old. The old ones are in buildings that date to the 1890's and still going strong. I added a few pics of the interior of the pump station.

Working on posting pics like Luke was attempting to do. I did contact Reed about this model #205 it's about 90 to 100 years old and cost $30 dollars. I convinced the Mechanics that it needed to be replaced for safety purposes.

Now this will make some mad, but I sandblasted off the old paint, cleaned off the old slag, and will be painting it a nice Reed red.

That would be a hard sell for any mechanic I know.

This one was on an old bench piled with junk and probably hasn't been used in years. We have my guess 30 vise's spread around the company from the very old Reed to new Wilton's no loss to them. It's funny how some folks worship old tools like us, and other's say throw that junk away.

The Louisville Water Company, most of the brass is painted black now, but they used to have laborers that all they did was polish brass. You can still see the Brasso residue on the bottom of the acorn in this pic. They stopped polishing brass about 30 years ago.

We gave up on that welding table a long time ago, somebody was always doing something other than welding. The table in the background is the one we use for welding only, and is pretty clean. The Wilton is useless as well, the jaws are at chest height. One of these days we'll get it figured out

Spent election day installing my new old toy in it's new home. I should have painted it a nice Democrat blue.

Tim, curious why you didn't use the large bolts to install? kidding. Nice work, it's great that some tools are so well made that they have second third and 4th lives.
