because its the "third car" in the driveway, it needs to be done relativly cheaply. anyone do anything like that??

I'd hit it. Just got back from hauling my own on the bike rack of the aforementioned Left Coast-mobile. Bounced it off the rev limiter, good times.

Saw a kid pull up in this the other day. Holy Mother of God:

I bought this Citroen last week to replace my new beetle that I was using as an "airport car". The Beetle was the opposite of a practical car. This one should be convenient to throw the bikes or dogs in it. They are desperate to sell cars... 35% discount on MSRP for a new one.

My neighbor across the street has one of those Continentals he needs to restore. Three Priuses could park in the space it took up. Everyone was stoked when he finally moved it into the garage last winter.

Any chance of finding a nice Citroen Mehari? That would be good for bikes & dogs.

What model is that anyway? We don't see those here. Does it still have the traditional Citroen (bizarre) control layout?

Finding a mehari is tough, they stopped making these a long time ago. Mine is called a c3 picasso. A so called "minispace", basically a box on wheels.

Even though it could ruin the lines if this had some space behind the seats this might be the cyclist's best car.

I see these Bajas on a pretty regular basis but overall they didn't sell well for Subaru. I did see a super tricked out Baja Turbo at Pikes Peak one year that was pretty neat.

I admit that I've often thought about a '65 El Camino for bike hauling.

Then I could make constant references to one of the worst (yet strangely entertaining) movies of all time.

Most 2cv and mehari tooling were bought by a belgian company when citroen stopped producing them. I believe you can still buy a brand new mehari, provided you supply an old frame and the papers from an wrecked/barnfinded original one.

You'll end up with a brand new car with papers from an old car.

    It is costly though.

The same thing applies to a number of expensive old cars that people tend to races. One famous example : the argentinian bugatti from Pur Sang.

The Baja didn't sell well, but the owners of are fanatical about them. Their are three in my small neighborhood alone. The coolest part about working on that project was meeting Horst and Harry Leitner - as AMP Research did the bed extender that was offered with it. Even more awesome-er was that I had brought in my MTB (setup as shown) that same day to use as the fitting trial bike with no idea that AMP was the vendor behind the thing. We were all sort of blown away.
