At least your not missing anything outdoors today.
I haven't ridden a bike in about 3 months.
Professional troll Jim Hoft of the far-right news and opinion website Gateway Pundit tweets that it's -4F in St. Louis, "It's a bit cold outside this morning in middle America... Aren't you glad you aren't heating your home with a solar panel like nitwit Socialist @AOC is demanding?"
The nitwit does not realize that photovoltaic panels work even better in the cold. Like even in outer space. Next time, call a nerd before you tweet.
STFU, Jim. You're out of your element.

Calmer than you are.
No biggie, but could a few east coast media talking heads Google Jeff Bezos pronouncing his own name.
Insomnia sucks. Just sayin'......
I'll drink my coffee as punishment now and go to work.
BTW, most hotel coffee is totally underrated. I never understand why folks spend $5 to stand in line at a place that rhymes with far bucks in order to get a coffee that is no better than the one I make in my hotel room.

Wife's brother-in-law has been suffering with a rotator cuff injury since December. Physical therapy etc. but no success. Actually more painful. His wife, my wife's sister, made him go back to the doctor. X-ray MRI C-scan. 4" diameter tumor in the upper lung. The shoulder pain is referred pain. Biopsy yesterday. They planned a trip to Joshua Tree next week, so they are going on that. They'll get the results while there.
My grump is that I am starting to get too familiar with these things. I've heard the things they are saying now before. I know generally what they are likely to say in a couple weeks. The steps, the stages, etc. I am not a fan of this familiarity.
The plan for the weekend was to go hiking over the weekend with my oldest, but when I woke him in the wee hours of Saturday morning, he was coughing and spluttering and wasn't going anywhere. When I rang the National Park to shift the permit back a couple of weeks, there was fires in the park and they were thinking of evacuating. The weather has since been very hot all weekend, there's been bushfires (aside from in the National Park where we were going hiking) and much of the time has been spent inside keeping away from the heat. It's autumn...how says this climate change thing doesn't exist?
This is TMI, but has been seriously chapping all parts of me for some time, so I thought I would air my gripe here, because I have yet to get an answer to this one.
I got a call on December 29 from my aunt's health care aide: come now. I was at the hospital across the country the next day by noon, and held her hand till she died a week later.
She had called my sister two week's prior with the diagnosis, and my sister never called back.
Can anyone shed a ray of light on this?
Sorry for your loss! You will be in my thoughts...
Family are so weird. Who knows what massive rift or tiny slight tore them apart? Or maybe it was jut the fear of death? You can drive your self crazy trying to figure it out or hold tight to the ones you are close to and be content with that. I can't answer that for you but I wish you peace with your decisions...

early post but my wife did this to her foot/toe....
Post surgery and a few titanium screws. Splint for about 2 weeks, then cast for 6-8, then boot for 10-12, then sneakers, and full recovery will take about 1 year.
Her/our spring break just turned into me being home for the next two weeks playing caretaker. The pain meds are making her sick so her choice is to be in excruciating pain or be in no pain and vomiting from the pain meds - neither of which are a good choice and I feel helpless because I cannot make it go away.

Ugh. Sorry to hear about that. Hopefully she'll beat the recovery estimates.
Get different pain meds. Key to her PT will be pain management.
