There's been some recent discussion of black/DLC watches around these parts, so I thought you might find this interesting.

Decent looking watch, hairy wrists of the reviewer notwithstanding.
Can someone please make me see sense and tell me that I don't need a Tudor Black Bay- they are regularly coming up for around 1600-1700 pounds on chrono24, and that is getting very close to me dipping into the new car/deposit for a place in France fund...
last time i kept returning to the same website it was for a speedvagen, and my will power didn't last too long then either.
So, I'm going to bring this down a notch. I'll drop and give 20 when I'm done. Because I can't seem to get that RGM sponsorship, I picked up a somewhat more disposable cx watch this year:

From the newish line of swatch tuna watches - rugged and cheap enough that I won't feel bad when I ruin it on some hot corner somewhere.
This is my substitute for pistol and ball. With a philosophical flourish Cato throws himself upon his sword; I quietly take to the bike.

Cool watch. Screw that crown...
I got this a while ago but hadn't got round to snapping any pictures. These aren't great (iPhone) but hopefully show a bit of the watch off: a Habring2 Doppel3. 3 months in it has really turned out to be a perfect weekend watch.

If any of you fellas is wearing an IWC Big Pilot, post a picture and let me what you think. How big is Big? (She wants to know.)
Qui plume a, guerre a. Ce monde est un vaste temple dédié à la discorde.
it'll look totally baller on a girl.
good deal here.
IWC-Mens Watch,Automatic Winding with Date Watch
It's big. And I'm a not very big guy who wears a big watch, but when I tried it on I felt that it was too much. That said, how a watch reads depends on anything from your wrist size to the relative case v. dial to the size of lugs to personal preference.
And yeah, it will look totally baller on a girl.
The IWC Big Pilot will wear big because of the narrow bezel and large face. On the other hand the black face will make it wear smaller than a similar sized white face.
I have a Steinhart/Gnomon Nav B Uhr 47mm, so 1mm larger than the Big Pilot. I have a small wrist at 6.8 inches but at 6' 2 1/2" I like to wear large watches.
See how the watches with larger bezels appear much smaller.

Looking much better
I know it's not fancy by the standards of this thread, but I've found the watch that will last until money is no longer an object for me.

I bought this because I couldn't get my maratac pilot to keep time for shit...+- 3 or 4 minutes per day. This is unacceptable for a German.
I swapped to a rubber band and now I wear it 24/7. All day. For everything. It's tough. It looks cool. It's <$200.
Insubordinate. And Churlish.
