What a sad face! Poor little pup. Tell us she's going to be OK

She is going to be just fine. The local vet came in after hours to meet us at 11:00 last night and gave her the anti-venom. She gets a checkup this morning and should be A-OK, except for a swollen snout !

Poor thing. Hopefully a few treats and some good scratches can get her feeling better again.

Thanks Murph. She was eating treats from the vet while they were pumping in the anti-venom... Nothing stops her from her treats.

Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
OK... a string of smalls.
(1) The toothpaste tube. "Up to two times more deep cleaning feeling" I don't know where to start with that one.
(2) The elementary school sign. "Enjoy summer! Wear your helmet!" Why? What's falling out of the sky?
(3) People that are nice to me when I do something stupid. I go get cat food, two trays of cans. I decline a bag and put the receipt on top and don't stop to adjust because the person behind me has a lot of stuff they're needing to get on the counter. I think that the paper might blow off when I get outside and sure enough it does... as somebody in their car waves me across the street. I wave them through because I'm stopping to pick up the paper, but no they don't go. They wait for me to catch the receipt and pick it up and then proceed across. Guys, I was being dumb. Don't accommodate me OK?
(4) Not wanting to ride Monday, yesterday or today because I'm too damn tired. Starting this spring its been allergies - flu - allergies - bronchial infection and as soon as the antibiotics killed the infection I lost my voice and its been two or three weeks. I think it caught up to me. I'm too tired to want to ride and it is peak gorgeous out there. So this is middle age. Wonderful.
But I hear the new bike might have gone into weld at the end of last week or sometime this week. Things ain't that bad after all.

This sounds all too familiar. It won't clear up. Ignoring as best I can but it's been months now.

Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
Dropped the chain and then it snapped 3 miles into my 27 mile commute - the wife was not happy with that call as she was working from home and had to drive in to pick me up and then deal with traffic, which she was avoiding by working from home.
I had a new chain in the tool box, installed it and rode in this morning - damn thing is falling off when in the big ring and under load (in the middle of the cassette). Cassette is not that old, cranks/bottom bracket are fine, wheel is securely in the dropouts. Any other suggestions to figure this one out?

Another day of dividing stuff for the upcoming unmarriage. Today I found the CD's with my son's baby pictures and copied them on to my external. Filled three more trash bags with crap I've moved too many times and never needed. Everything that could be donated has been. It's tossing time.
Tomorrow I'll get the call from the relocation people, I'm pressing the soon to be Ex to get her stuff gone so I can get my stuff packed out and heading west by the end of the month. I'll need a dresser when I get to my new place but I've got enough furniture to be ok.

I'm going to get another Flagstaff bike after I settle in Kingman. I'm thinking a 29r painted copper with blue logos.

Highly recommended. Have an older 26er, drop bar 26er and soon to be 27.5+ which could also run 29 if needed. Frame pic in Coconino gallery.

Get Your Grump on Friday the 13th !!
$1M piece of automation arrived today from Germany (via Amsterdam after initially being loaded onto the wrong freighter). Crate and sealed membrane were compromised (likely during the move in Amsterdam) allowing 6 weeks of salt water and humidity (Panama Canal) to punish everything inside. System was scheduled to be in production early August, now the other $1M of related hardware will sit on our floor unused until this thing is "fixed". I've been running around all day trying to coordinate a timely resolution, on a Friday!
My life just got much more complicated.

Another small. I think I've already said that this spring since late May has been allergies - flu - allergies - bronchial infection. Well, my doc gave me me antibiotics which worked wonderfully to clear up the bronchial thing but I promptly lost my voice. For the last month or so I have been unable to speak much above a hoarse croaking wheeze. Not to mention I feel like crap off and on. Today on. Also, drinking on the bike is then an exercise of hacking and spitting for a couple of miles as garbage collects right on the back of my palate, when garbage is there it is nice but most of the time it just feels like garbage is there so no relief when I hack, spit and gag. No, that's not the thing. The thing is I have to restrain myself here in the office of going all Tourette's on the idiots on the next aisle that just won't shut up. An hour of "OMG, stop!" and "I literally just..." and every other goddamn inane moronic phrase you can come up with on the subject of children doing brainless shit that's just the cutest ever or yes I guess your wedding was probably the high point in your life but go talk about it at the smokers lean to and goddamn it I don't watch some show called big brother or something because it is for imbeciles and I sure as hell don't want to hear about it in the office. At least today the newlywed's subject isn't the visit to the doctor to get the sperm count for her husband. I guess I'll go with that.

feeling helpless...
my wife is having terrible morning sickness - all day.
but the opposite end of the spectrum for tomorrow being that she/we are in a position to expect the morning sickness.

Check rings, teeth and spider for flatness. If you took them off recently, did you leave a spacer out? An irregularity in the teeth or alignment of the ring can be “read” as a shift point, particularly under power.

Re: Get Your Grump on Thursdays - Was (What's chapping my @ss today?)
I'm flying out to Kingman, AZ via Vegas on Sunday evening for two days of looking at rental properties so I have a place for my stuff next month. The relocation company let me know today that they don't have a person in Kingman to show me property. They're scrambling to find a solution before monday morning.
Secondly, this weekend is the Tour de Paris (TX) on Saturday and the Hell of the North Texas (gravel) on Sunday. It's supposed to be 107 on Saturday and 103 on Sunday. And it's not a dry heat. I'm rolling out at 0630 on Saturday before the 0800 official start. We're trying to convince the race organizer on Sunday to have an optional 0630 timed start on Sunday.
