Planet Money is always a favorite of mine, but they're short, maybe 20 minutes max.

S-Town was an interesting one. Don't go in expecting Serial season 3.

I just got sucked into Crimetown. All about the mob/political corruption in Providence, RI in the 80s.

I really like the consummate athlete one, CX hairs is getting more in to MTBs which is cool (great stephen hyde interview). Also, I think slow ride podcast has really found its stride over the last year. Vital MTB has a pretty fun one at the moment, really enjoyed Brian Lopes' interview. Behind the Passion has had some cool ones, lots of variety.

S-town was beautiful, more like an audio book.

Song Exploder is still one of the ones I get most excited for a new episode.

Another vote for S town, I'm about half way through it. The Vital series with Spoomer is pretty good as well, lots of mtb racing icons in that series so far.

I remember a time when I was listening to podcasts on an mp3 player and always looking for something new. Now I have so many I can't keep up. I'm hardly listening to audiobooks anymore.

I definitely can't keep up with the ones I download. There's so much quality content. There's not enough time in the day to listen to all of them. I've taken to listening to 'The Daily', produced by the New York Times, but it's presentation can occasionally be annoying as it sounds like a conversation between a couple of privileged millennials, which is what it sometimes actually is. But some of the content is very good too.

Fresh Air is almost always worth the time invested.

I agree that the Slow Ride has finally found their spot. I've been enjoying them quite a bit lately.

The Athletic Community has a new podcast called "Transmissions." I dig it.

NPR's How I Built This is pretty good as well.

Also, Turned Out A Punk, if you are into punk/hardcore things. The one with Laura Jane Grace is great, as is the Anthony Bourdain episode.

I wonder if I would like podcasts, have never listened to one. I read a lot in the evenings - generally non-fiction bike racer autobiographies, TDF histories, and sometimes (non-bike related) fiction. I listen to a ton of music too. Seems like not enough time to do everything I wanna do. :)

I never thought I would like them, but it turns out, I'm a huge fan. But you have to have the time to listen to them, some (like many of the Joe Rogan interviews) are over 3 hours long. I listen to them at work and on long drives. For long drives, especially early morning or late at night, they're great because as long as it's something I'm really interested in they keep your attention a lot better than music and help me stay awake.

Agreed. I have pretty much stopped listening to music on drives as I find myself more actively engaged with listening to podcasts.

I'm pretty sure Pocket Casts is available on ios. I've been using it for years on Android and like it. I don't know what is wrong with the ios Podcasts app but nobody seems to like it.

I listen to NPR Up First (10 minutes of news every morning) .
- Marketplace
- Sword and Laser (SciFi)
- Car Talk, but I listen to it every once in a while.

I tried to do "Beers with Talos" from Cisco's info sec researchers but I can't stand listening to the people. Too much nerd's pretending to be cool, not enough info.

So here's something fun - search your favorite podcast app for some of your favorite artists/bands and find interviews, performances, etc. There's some good stuff out there!

If you are into cars, checkout Everyday Driver. I found it about a week ago and enjoy it quite a bit - they do two a week, so there’s lots of back catalog.

I don’t always agree with the guys, but it’s hours and hours of the “which car should I buy” scenario, with different twists and budgets to work around.

It’s also totally kid safe language wise - which is a nice bonus for car rides.

I rolled out on an errand with a new Marc Maron WTF podcast turned up. It wasn't until I saw the dad with two little boys crossing in front of me that I realized my window was down and a stream of f__ variants was running out of it.
