Steve, do you run bronze/silver the entire length of your sleeve, or just top/bottom and around vent holes?

It gets in there quite aways - over 1" on each side + the sleeve distortion keeps it put.
many 100's out there no problem.

I had little bit problems with my tig welder, so I did about dozen fillet braze practice joints.
First tinned with 1/16" rod and then build the fillet with 3mm rod, Cycle Desing LFB flux.
How do these look, am I doing anything right?

The acute angle is definitely missing some internal fillet, but you can't see it well from the pic. Otherwise the internal fillet is quite big.

Some of the fillets are little bit overheated as you can see separation of the copper.

Did some more practicing, I'm pretty happy with the progress so far.
However I'm still struggling to get good internal fillet, tinned or not tinned it does not matter. Tube is internally fluxed and I'm preheating tubes about 2mins.
Any tips for building better internal fillet and what is desired size of the internal fillet?

Yes - line up 50 intersecting joints and run through them all in sequence. The repetition will inform your hand/eye thingy regarding what's working and why.

Yep. As long as it's lipsticked around 90% or so of the edge it's not going to come off.
You are too cold on your thick & too hot on your thin.

I had the same problem as Shirk, my Cycle Design Flux turned black the second the flame touched it. My tubes were super clean. They were ultrasonic cleaned in a detergent then acetone wiped. It stayed black around the whole joint. Did you ever figure out a way to limit this a bit?

What flux and rod do you use Garro?

What flux and rod do you use Garro?

If you email Wade he'll explain the black to you. It's the newer LFB flux formula. The older version didn't do it, but I like the consistancy of the newer stuff better. Performance wise it works just fine.
