If the original 500 is too quirky I'm sure some of these still exist in the USA.

Red piping! Same colors as an Abarth!
"don't buy fiat. buy a ruf 930 or a bentley." this is THE stupidest internet forum ever.
i love it.
marc-
or get this. it's stupid looking too- but faster and comes with a roll cage!

Get the Frankie Goes to Hollywood special edition of the Vauxhall Tigra.
Hey, the Fiat 500's not so bad. I bought one. For my wife and daughter to go to the beach in Rhode Island.
PS, I've driven it with the top down from Newport to the NY 'burbs and back a couple times for routine service. Late at night with the top down at 85 mph that little sucker sounds like the meanest mofo of a sewing machine in the universe and it's a fun little machine.
PPS, my wife's station car is a 2008 135i. She bought it 'cause she liked the color.
Marc, if you get a Bentley, I'll only stop laughing long enough to breathlessly gasp "Tell your dad to get a real job" in my best early-Philip Seymour Hoffman.
Got some cash
Bought some wheels
Took it out
'Cross the fields
Lost Control
Hit a wall
But we're alright
That's the point.
Buying a motorized vehicle for a commute that short does only mean one thing. Decadence.
And there are two ways to achieve it :
-in the most complete luxury.
-by risking a paintful yet instant death at every ride.
Looking for practicality, economy or common sense would be completely out of context. Atmo, a fiat 500 or a bmw 128i have no place in this thread.
The advantage of getting the Bentley is that when you drop it off at the dealership for service, you can kill time across the street at Signature.
Give up all pretense. Get a Jolly.
hey its marc's birthday today. maybe the new car is already in the driveway?
of all the dumb ideas here, i have to say i like the bentley idea the best... i assume it wont start 1/10 nights in the greenwich commuter lot, but c'mon, how much can that thing weigh? i would only have to push it like 2.1 miles home.
This would encourage anyone foolish enough to consider an automobile purchase for a 1.3 mile commute (are you f*cking kidding me?) to at least get it warmed up. It's sort of like riding Veloflex tubulars to the bar and I don't know anyone who would do that....... Get the air cooled 911 and drive it 20 miles for your 1.3 mile commute. Or get that Mitsubishi electric thing. I know which one I'd get.
La Cheeserie!
This is for sale.
