I have to report that I rode a Moriwaki MD250 this past weekend at COTA, and I don't think I can fold myself up on a 125 chassis any longer. Somewhere along the way I thought, "What a minute. It was 18 years ago since I raced a 125!"
So, back to the drawing board for a track bike. RSV4 is high on the list, but my gears are turning on lightweight options.
Speaking of COTA last weekend, this was at the edge of our garage (number 4) along with some marks for positioning bikes. When we saw it, we thought, "No way." Then looked at the garage next door and saw #26 and a similar set of marks. Pretty cool.

That is pretty cool.
I've been following a local tuning shop around here. EDR Performance. They do some good work it looks like.
They've been doing a few FZ-07 race builds and Ninja 400. I'm digging both of them.

Funny you should mention them, I stumbled across their webpage and was very impressed.
I'm doing two days at Laguna Seca in July and renting prepped Ninja 400s from FeelLikeAPro. Looking forward to those small bikes on that track!
For sure. I'm just looking for something in addition to the Triumph 765RS that sees some track time. This pics is from last weekend.

You'll eat up some Perrelli's like that.
$500.00 tyre swaps for the weekend are MP on the wallet.
Kind of why a 400-300 class bike is rad but COTA is just so long........
Let us know on that 400 Ninja. I think with just a few $2k in mods and it could be a sweet track bike.

I have to say, these Pirelli Diablo Supercorsa SP, which were OEM on the RS, have held up pretty well. As seen in that pic, the tires has three track days and a total of 3K miles. I will probably change them before another day at the track but not until probably another 1K miles on the street. I kept expecting to feel them go off, but they just kept sticking. Granted, I'm not running at race pace (the stock suspension limits that) but was running with everyone in the Intermediate group in the corners.
From T11 to T12 and T20 to T1 at COTA is what keeps the liter bikes in mind for me. That said, the other local track, Harris Hill, would be perfect on a smaller bike. The 2016 675R track/race bike is still for sale in Seattle and looks very interesting.
I'm really looking forward to the 400 Ninja at LS and will definitely report back. EDR build a really sweet R3 that was sold a ways back. The R3 looks interesting but I have heard stories of cranks snapping at track RPMs. :(
Those Supercorsa SP's are great. They came on my Speed. I went to a Diablo as I just couldn't justify the extra $175 for the track tyre when 95% of my time is road riding.
Also felt they needed a bit more time to heat up than the Diablo II but that could just be me.
I hear great things about the new Diablo III and will be checking in on them later this summer.

My track days require different tire choices.
OMG
This might be happening.

Awesome! Congrats. Let me know if it doesn’t work out and I’ll sick my (and Houston’s) pal Paul on the poor bastard to buy it for me.
I actually think I found a 2017 in Santa Monica I’m going to buy- I should buy something like this that already has all the go fast bits installed- but that’s ok.
I can’t get over how great the RSV4 is. For me- it’s a perfect motorcycle.
You guys are making me feel so inadequate with my "little" Rotax V-twin Futura.
(Actually, I don't have a death-wish, so no, I will not be getting an RSV4 any time soon...)
