Be careful- I got a gold cap on one of my molars from a crappy dentist. I thought it would be cool.
The thing fell off about four times before I finally went to a good dentist to get it fixed.
Select your dentist carefully. It is not like getting stitches on your elbow.
My guess is that you might be a good candidate for a veneer or veneers? Not sure if they only like to do one tooth- they like it all to match.
But they are way better off at matching whatever they do these days.
Nothing worse than one bright white tooth in a mouth full of teeth with some miles on them.
My grump: MFers who don't respect the sanctity of the grump thread.
Brought to you by no ride on a perfect New England day.
I go to LBS Felt dealer to order bike for my sons Bday.
ME: Hi, I'd like to order a Felt F24 for my 9 year old son.
SG: Uh, Specialized makes a nice kids bike with 650B wheels.
ME: 650B wheels are much bigger than 24" on the Felt. I really want the Felt F24.
SG: OK. Tap tap into computer. The new model of the F24 is the F95.
ME: No it's not. The F95 is a 650C wheel bike. Too big.
SG: OK, let me look... Ah here we go F24. 2014. Black with Green stripes, right.
ME: No, I want the 2015 with blue stripes.
SG: I don't see that.
ME: It's on Felt's website.
SG: Oh, OK, here it is.
How much pain do I have to go through? I could have had that bike ordered online in 2 minutes. With zero aggravation.
Where's the value added? I have to go to shop, wait, deal with a meathead who knows less about the bike than I do.
Ya, that's right they're going to give me a free shop water bottle when I pick it up.
Oh well, soon my son and I will be riding together and I'm looking forward to that! He excited. I'm excited.

Mmmm... I see Nate more as
State College PA was named one of the top 10 Bike friendliest cities in the U.S. I already knew that list should be blank, but that doesn't say much for the rest of the country. This place sucks to ride until you get out of town.

Getting faster... My goal for the year is HOURS not miles. So as I get faster, it takes less time to ride my normal loops. So I have to find ways to extend my ride loops.

Welp, it looks like I'll be needing a new fork.

I can't sleep because I'm so pissed off at the company that handles our recycling (Recology CleanScapes). While we were away on vacation, one of their drivers knocked down a tree on our parking strip. Neighbor saw it happen - guy takes pictures and fills out a report but doesn't leave any notification at my house. Back from vacation, I call the company, get the runaround, and finally talk to someone who states, "Our truck came into contact with your tree and the tree fell over but we didn't do it." What!?! They actually had the gall to claim that the tree had been knocked over previously and propped up to look like it was still alive which is why their truck "brushing up against it" knocked it over. As a contractor, it seems that they have no incentive to make things right and they're acting like it. I want to take them to small claims court but the amount of complications (I'm a renter and my neighbor is the only witness), time (men and others), and money to get there makes it tough...and Recology knows it. Looks like my only real option is a sternly worded letter-of-complaint to appropriate folks at city hall...which will not be remotely satisfying. I hate those f_ckers.
I hate car fax. Trying to sell at least 1 car before the move to Boston and got screwed by car fax (and the police officer who wrote the report of the original non-accident).
About 2 years ago one of the "dollar buses" tried to run me into the side of the Lincoln tunnel entrance. I refused to move so he reacted quickly, went the other way, and ultimately hit the side wall. We did not contact but because a cop saw it he wrote up a police report even though he stated that it was the bus drivers fault and we we did not actually touch so there was no accident.
Now the two dealers and every person who wants to buy my car notices an accident report on the Car Fax record. It was not an accident, the bus never touched me and there is no damage. The car has never been in an accident. The car has never been to an auto body repair shop.
But this is costing me about $2,000 on the sale because dealers have to "explain it away" and the average joe does not know enough about cars to tell that may car has never been repaired from an accident that never actually happened.
Moving into week 4 of pretty much solid rain........
