This is an fantastic thread. Want me to WIKKI this for the ages? At almost 10,000 views you make the call.

Joostix - Did your doc put you on BP meds? If you have had elevated BP for sometime an likely reason is slightly thickened heart walls. With lowering BP over time this should correct and this was true for me.

Our work and family schedule has been difficult here. I got all of my training done, but a bunch ended up as late night sessions on the exercise bike.
It's becoming clear that my largest challenge toward maintaining weight loss is going to be scheduling.

    136.5 / 7.5

RHR this morning 40 bpm. Total aside on heart rate - check out heart rate variability for some fun reading. A few coaches I know are using this as a fitness / tiredness indicator.

BF% Scale accuracy - I was 11.9% on the BOD POD and my scale says 8% when using the "athlete" profile. Other than ego the actual number doesn't matter as long as the scale has decent precision. Just track the trend over time and you'll have useful info.

Tom, I haven't read the entire thread. What is your goal weight?

137, my old race weight….I know I'm crazy, but it's my inspiration to race once more at that weight and see what happens

jesus, you guys must be tiny!!!

If I didn't eat for two months, I would be dead but I would still weigh over 170. I doubt I can be fit and healthy under 185.

222 today, down from a high of 260, 237 when we started this nonsense.

Naw, not crazy. Motivation is a good thing to have. I was down to 152 ( touch over 6ft tall) in 2010. Had my best results to date. Drop down to 150 and went to crap. Not sure what the deal was unless I was straight losing muscle

You know that's what might happen to me. The last year I raced I was ranked 2 nd in my age group, but there were a couple of guys that I used to beat all the time and they really put the hurt on me. So I want to find our if it's the weight or the altitude tents they were using (they flat out told me).

I love the fact that masters racers are sleeping in altitude tents.

I find it interesting that any amateur racer does.

Yeah, among other things I'm told. I asked one the guys what he did when he had to pee during the night. He told me he brings a pee bottle into the tent! That would work just fine, "sweetie what are you doing?"..."oh nothing just go back to sleep dear"

what is the deal with cvac treatments? I hear some racers are doing this. It gives the results of a tent without having to sleep in one.

I'm not quite sure other than it's a limited time spent in a pod where the pressure is adjusted up and down. It reported to encourage red blood cell growth in cancer patients. It's probably hooey, but Ive heard some cats are doing it.

Yeah...."climbs pretty well". Just like Bo Derek was "kinda good looking".... Note proper decade reference.
