About 10 years ago, on a road trip with my then gf now wife, we were leaving Bend, OR around 9am on a Sunday morning. No traffic, heading south I think on the main highway out of town. All of a sudden a car on a side road on our right pulls out in front of us. My wife swerves to avoid it, causing our car to do a 360 into the other lane of oncoming traffic. We end up on the shoulder, and about 10 seconds later an 18 wheeler drives by. It would have flattened us had the timing been different. Lucky day.
