These vehicles are just so cool.

Couple of cool ones I have seen around Moab.

I hate to think of the noise those tires make on the highway.

I guess somebody somewhere needed a vehicle like this.

Probably a diesel to make it even less desirable.

It's a Unimog U100L with a Safari Vehicles Manufacturing (Richmond BC) molded fiberglass expedition cabin. More info on the shells here: Very High Quality Molded Expedition Cabin - Expedition Portal

It's a bit shabby-looking, but probably not too hard to restore.

Acquaintance of mine had one in the Keene, NH area. I have never seen as much instantaneous environmental damage as one of those vehicles can produce since then.

Found this hiding in a parking lot in Queens. Pretty lumpy streets in that area ...

Muddy/wet double track in those environs, paired with the vehicle's capability and driver's indiscretion when it came to driving along those tracks. Ruined an entire mountain's system of fire roads and double-track. Not necessarily the fault of the Unimog, it was just such a capable vehicle...

Is it just me or has anybody else noticed a resurgence of Hummers on the road? WTF...has somebody been stockpiling them and waiting for people to forget what a POS they were before selling the leftovers?

^^ I have to say I was excited to see it. The fact that it's ridiculous makes it even better.

If you are looking for the 4x4 or 6x6 Citroen H-Van counterpart you'd have to look at the Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer or Haflinger instead.

I almost bought an ex swiss army Pinzgauer a few years ago but couldn't decide if I wanted the Pinz or the G and came back to my sense before it was too late.

You wanted the Volvo C303. It's like a Pinzgauer with an actual engine.

    Does Sasha still rock this?
I know some folks complained (carbon credit cruncher and all), but I thought it was kinda neat.

Holy brain zap--just recalled, when I was a kid, one of my favorite toys was an Unimog!!!!
Man, I haven’t thought about my Matchbox collection (long gone) in decades!
