You know, we've gone up a long way since then in Italy. It was really long time ago, when lots of land was unspoiled by a village with a church and a Villa or another Unesco-will-be thing

I wish they would cull the deer in the Norther suburbs of Chicagoland. They are everywhere, just waiting to jump on us unsuspecting bikers. I would pay $$ for locally harvested wild game, just sayin' . . ..

That pig with the X on its face makes me have to tell the story of how when my dad started farming after coming over to the states he tried to shoot a domestic pig in the head to butcher it and he almost shot himself with the ricochet because his first attempt was between the eyes.

The weather is getting so close to the point I can start planning stops at one of the very good Italian delis without ending up hauling around fresh frozen pork. Nothing inspires petty jealousies like showing up to a friendly early season ride with a sandwich that goes halfway up your back sticking out of a jersey pocket. The complaints normally start about an hour in when everyone is reaching for that first bite of food made in a lab while some jerk is sitting up unwrapping a cloth napkin.

That headbadge always makes me think about following the exhaust end of a pig.
