Can we have stickers & T-shirts made of this, please?

I've done what you are trying to do, with the tube you are trying doing it with - you need to add bend to the main bend and flatten it slightly, and subtract some bend from the minor curve.

This thread spurred me into designing something I've been thinking about for a while:

    image.jpg

I've ordered a batch of 10 because it's as cheap to do that as to order just one, I'll think of a price if anyone else is interested. It's sized for MTB and road, double and triple.

I'm assuming this slides into the bottom bracket for clearance checks? Material?

Yes, slides in for clearance checks against the chainstay. Laser-cut from 3mm stainless.

@Garro - is 'A-OK' metric or standard measure? After seeing several pictures of shops, I've installed a dry erase board and added a rainbow's worth of Sharpies to my shop.

    Both!
That's the wall heater, it's pretty covered - that shit's pure gold.
An old bike shop I worked at had all the rim ERD's on the wall all the way back to the early 70's, they did a re-model once & cut it out and put it back.

I got the first batch of the clearance tools:

    clarence1.jpg

The triple side is fine, not absolutely certain about the double side, it might need to be spaced out further to match modern BBs and chainsets. On my website here:

I think what the OP was looking for was the chainline. (?)

If so, according to the internet,
    Chainline: 43.5 mm
    Q Factor: 147 mm

So maybe start there, know your crank length, know your chainring diameter, and draw it up, per Rody or using your CAD program.

I received Ben Cooper's Chainset Gage a few days ago. While rough in finishing detail and lacking numbers stamped onto it is is a neat device. One more arrow in the quiver. I'll clean it up and maybe stamp the ring teeth numbers onto it. Many thanks, Andy.
