Don, I have a history of saying it's a joke. And it is. But it's also the price of entry for the two riders I'll have doing UCI events and Natz this fall. When you look at this rule it makes sense for all of the reasons voiced, but it's essentially a toll because there is no real way to enforce it. As manager of a Colavita regional team we've sent more riders to Natz and International events than most people here I'd bet. There has only been one issue wrt bikes that I'm aware of. There are many position issues we deal with and that is really where you can violate a rule. If you could put a sticker on an approved position that would be progress. But hey, it's time to stop the complaining and get you guys my numbers. Thanks to Richard, You and Carl for putting the small framebuilder in the minds of the UCI.

i asked all these questions and was satisfied with the UCI's reply. these are all made-to-measure bicycles we are discussing. the regulations do take in account the rider's morphology and the designs and components can be adjusted to comply. all the information regarding this subject is in section 1.3 here atmo. i could see issues if a rider is atop a bicycle that was made for someone else and the range of components don't allow for an assimilation situation. that's not a typical scenario though for us here. but all of this is moot since we apply for label as custom builders at the front end.
