OT: Snow Today, Show Us the Money Shot

Nice...I was just contemplating moving to Portsmouth, but after seeing that I have changed my mind. (plus my wife said no)

We had an inch here in Arkansas on Tuesday night so they closed schools for the day on Wednesday. Too cold to ride though.

That's not Portsmouth. They don't get nearly as much snow, since it is right on the ocean. We are more inland, on the west side of the bay.

The snow is just an excuse to have big power tools. Nothing like a five foot wide, 2 foot tall snowblower powered by a diesel tractor. Its what I dreamed of when I was a little boy and shoveling driveways for a buck.

21' inches in WeHa according to the local news. Seems about right. Note the 40' inch+ drift in the photo. It took my wife on snowshoes with a shovel on top of the drift and the most powerful John Deere/Frontier snow blower available to grind thru it.

Yeah, there sits my bike parts upgrade budget for 2011....

...but, with the recent snow, accommodating my old man's back in a young man's body was more important.

It is a pretty friggin' cool tool to play with, I must admit...

Fun story: we've got a super nice older couple as neighbors, he's a retired marine and his wife has arthritis. They need to park as close to their place as possible. Some schmuck who lives a half block down the street and is too lazy to shovel his own space always sneaks in to the places that we & other neighbors clear out for ourselves. Yesterday I launched all the snow from our yard, driveway, plus some adjacent areas, onto his car. It was literally buried to the roof all the way around. It was enjoyable watching him have to dig it out last night.
