Audi is a heavy car in almost every way, if not every way. I don’t think I will own another—just not the kind of car I want anymore—but if I did I’d want an s5 or s7. And I’d kick myself at every reminder of cost of ownership.

Not a bad decision but not a good one either.

If I didn't have small kids I would buy one and use it as my primary car (I don't drive that much so it's okay). But my girls already have issues with alpine roads and hydropneumatic citroens are really terrible for people suffering from car sickness, especially at the back.

Thus the plan is to buy a W114 mercedes for my 40th birthday.

My grandfather bought one of those in 1968 (is that the apex year of cool design somehow?) to replace his "fintail" Mercedes. Those were amazing cars, both of them. As a kid I could lie down in the back seat and the miles and miles of windows in those cars made it like riding around in an aquarium. He traded the second Mercedes in on a Peugeot 504 (area code of Louisiana!) that was a total piece of crap. I think eventually the dealer gave him some money so they didn't have to work on it any more, and he bought a Toyota Corona that he drove until the judge told him he wasn't allowed to drive any more.

Why am I thinking that Too Tall would have placed cash on the dash in order to take this beauty home from Bloomington...never mind the passenger side mishap and Mercury branded wheels.

If it was a El Camino there would be no doubt esp. a rust free one is unheard of. Hopefully it has blown out glasspacks.

the best thing about that el camino is the tinted windows so you can huff gas or smoke meth while driving in privacy.

Stumbled upon a car show this morning. In a sea of muscle cars with flames and exotics, this may have been my favorite car there.

Nice! I miss my E30 all the time and still can't figure out what possessed me to sell it. I kept my Bentley Manual and a can full of specialized tools we made for it on the lathe just in case...

Here is a Group B tribute to the era when rally cars became too fast to race.

I always liked this car with the supercharger instead of turbo with 325bhp and no lag in a car weighing 2000 lbs

I could watch 80s racing videos for the rest of my life and die happy. F1 as well. Love this stuff!

I love watching old videos of Group B, but the carnage was awful. Formula ! had the same problem. Many criticize F1 today, but this year's series is incredibly competitive.

    Thank you for that.
And for the rest of you who should know better: It's not an El Camino, it's a Ranchero! Jeeze...

    p.s. A college friend restored an E30 320i. It's lovely.
    GO!
