Note that I've known and liked a number of pastors, and I'm only grumping about the ones that seem to be truly evil fucks.

The people I work with. The people I work with are my grump.
Them: "hey, can you do me a favor?"
Me: "sure, whats up?"
Them: "I need you to come to a meeting and speak Asian."
Me: "You need me to speak Asian?"
Them: "Yeah, they don't speak English. They speak Asian."
Me: "Asia is a continent. A multitude of languages are spoken in Asia. I can only speak English."
Them: "No, you can speak Asian. You spoke to them on the phone."
Me: "...in English."
This conversation continues for several minutes. I wish I spoke Asian. I'd move away from this place as soon as possible.
Severe hypothermia and Di2. Film at 11.

Employers that take on workload based on how much money they want (all of it) and not on how much manpower they actually have. They just figure they can have us work more hours. That leads to guys who come in at 3am, leave at 5pm and get asked on their way out if they can come in earlier tomorrow.
I keepbhearing about how all these Mexicans are flooding across the border to take our jobs. Where are they? We need some damn welders.

so did Phil "Colored" Ligget during the TDF. I agree "chinaman" sounds bad to the ears...but why doesn't frenchman or englishman sound bad?
and, so I don't have to do pushups, I'll add that my mother-in-law sounds like Jonathan Greene's long lost sister. She has a nervous, agitated anger towards everybody and everything that sucks the life out of every room she enters. The true grump? I'm sure she end up under my roof some day.
Insubordinate. And Churlish.
getting sick when your dad is visiting and you're supposed to be riding. effit.
Fair weather bike commuters that don't know what they are doing and won't learn.
My capacity to shake my head and smile like the square in a Mentos commercial has run out.
Tomorrow I can be happy that they're just about to hang it up until June.

Not defending Phil - I heard the comment and was puzzled as well- but in some countries (south africa comes to mind) "colored" is a commonly used word and is not pejorative or outdated like it is in the US. But as far as I know Phil's not from SA, so who the hell knows.
Next time I'm abroad I'm going to call myself an Americaman and see what shakes out.
my grump: stacking two cords of firewood. Jaysus. It. Never. Ends.
Our cat has fleas and now they are everywhere.
In th Venn diagram of weekends I have free to race, and Chicago CX races that I am willing to drive (or ride) to, there is almost zero overlap.

Business partner who is rushing me to get a very complex app done, yet doesn't let me work on the big stuff because he's obsessing over the "tag line" and type of speckled background he wants.

Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
Left a bunch of stuff at the end of the driveway that was clearly marked for the charity truck that was scheduled to pick it up. Some f'ers stole it all.
Mother in law is still here but at least she's topped off with ambian and Xanax, how she got it I don't want to know but her sleeping until noon is nice for the rest of us.
Car is still in the shop. This will get expensive. Should have bought a new one.
Middle kid is sick. He's missed 12 days of school already. We are 1/2 way to finding out he shares my immune deficiency. At least he has his mother's looks.
I'm riding a bit so I'm hungry but I need to lose a bit of weight. Hungry and angry.
How's that for grumpy?
