Nice!
*But I'm also sad to see the manual FJ go.
laughter has no foreign accent.
It was a hard decision. I loved the FJ and had originally planned to keep it for a long time. But when I realized how well it held it's value I figured that was a good sign to take the money and run...right into an STI!
Also, if I'm being honest with myself, I barely ever put a bike in a car anymore and I no longer have dogs (and probably won't for a few more years), so I really didn't need a truck.
Ahh Moab and cool trucks.

Hertz guy: "Would you like to upgrade from the Yaris to a Camaro for $4?"

Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
Saw this awesome automotive display on the trails, pretty amazing engineering. Back in the day the trail actually was just that "road". But now there is singletrack winding all around it.

I will always be a big sucker for a forward-control Jeep.
There is a 1978 FJ40 with 5,000 miles on the odometer on Bring A Trailer right now.
Current bid over $80k!

I ended up driving that hog from San Jose down to Big Basin Redwoods State Park on 236, which is a goat path about 1.25 lanes wide, no lines, and nothing but blind curves - I figure some of the Bay Area guys might know the road. The Yaris would have been better. We ended up driving out to the southeast almost to Santa Cruz in order to not die on the return trip. Made me wish I had taken the Hertz guy up on his offer to upgrade to a 911 for only an extra $150/day. Sometimes I don't know a bargain when I see it.
"As an homage to the EPOdays of yore- I'd find the world's last remaining pair of 40cm ergonomic drop bars.....i think everyone who ever liked those handlebars in that shape and in that width is either dead of a drug overdose, works in the Schaerbeek mattress factory now and weighs 300 pounds or is Dr. Davey Bruylandts...who for all I know is doing both of those things." - Jerk
Sorry, I don't know how to post pictures. Anyway after a broken leg in'17 and a back that keeps getting worse, I decided to get something a little more comfortable for long distance. I still have my Riv Roadeo and my Rex, but my riding is just short flat rides (15-35 miles).
If someone could e-mail some instructions about posting pictures, I could show you guys my new replacement for long bicycle rides. A 2017 Porsche Cayman S PDK. I got a rack with suction cups for hauling my extremely slow Riv Roadeo.
