But otherwise that thing's a beast. Nice.

everything else is great though, the combo of the black rims with silver brake track and black rings with silver teeth works well

it can be fixed pretty simply:

get a traditional single-bolt seatpost, an old fluted campagnolo super record would be best but even a nicer kalloy would do the job right (VO sells good ones in a bunch of sizes)

put a silver traditional quill stem on it, just about any old cinelli / 3ttt or new nitto would work great

swap out the handlebars for cinelli 64 or deda 215 shallow or 3ttt TdF
Duly noted. Will work on it.

I just did my first post in the 'hello' section and was browsing this thread and thought I would throw my frame in the mix just because it is a 62/63cm frame as I am a pretty tall guy.

I agree with what some of the posters were saying in the first couple of posts that getting a bike for a tall guy 'right' is pretty hard. Quite honestly I don't think I managed it but life is a learning curve.

Oh this has too much quill and too fat tires on as it was set up for a tour when I took the picture. Normally the quill rests a bit down and the tires are 25s. I'll throw up a picture of some of my other frames when a get a moment as they are similarly stupid sized.

On the positive side, we have some framebuilders with great eye for detail, fluid lines and simple, direct designs. Their execution is flawless.

On the negative side, so many install these threaded stems. I don't know what can be done to give them pleasing lines, but they look so industrial, so pipefitter's union. Bulky, big couplers and big bolt heads. You get a graceful head tube, beautifully swept bars and then this big, clunky threaded stem. To me it just looks incongruous. So what's wrong with the old quill stems? Cinelli, Triple T, Nitto, they have nice lines and function well.

For harmony, it's more the diameter than the type of stem IMO. So many gorgeous threadless-type stems going at least back to the 1940s.

I swapped a too-short, too-high BREW quill stem off my bike and put on a 130mm Cinelli XA. And the Cinelli weighs four ounces more. Threadless is even lighter. So, I'd say weight is what is wrong. Flexibility, too.

There are some great looking bikes in this thread.

I'm built funny, so the fact that my bikes fit me may well mean they don't look "proper" to some, but they look OK to me...

The 'cross bike properly leveled hoods and a better saddle on it at the moment.
