5:00am 3x20, no time for stretching/yoga, and an hour on the Metro North train = tiiiiiiight hip flexors. I've managed to hobble to the office and get a cup of coffee at least.
Replaced both front sway bar links...thinking "that must be the problem" but nooooooooo it IS THE HUBS.
Oh dear.

People who are fundamentally at their very core, pathologically dishonest.
food poisoning before boarding a small plane this week, just to find out that this is 15 seater with no restroom..... 1h can be very very long.
I found a wallet on Tuesday. Took it to address on the driver's license, which was incongruent with contents. Find out he was arrested, lost job, foreclosed on, etc. and no longer lives there. Had a few business cards, none of them knew him well enough to know where he lived. Looked closer, and saw that what I thought were all ATM receipts (withdraw $40, balance of 0.16 cents type stuff) included some pay stubs from a nearby bar. I walked it over there. Sorry, he was fired last week and not allowed in here, but we'll call him and make sure he gets it back.
I needed the shot of Jameson the bartender gave me after spending the day learning about this guy. Not uplifting.
apparently I am only 2% more valuable to my employer after 1.5 years on the job.
I'm stuck with some heart-wrenching lifelong consequences because of a decision I made when I was too young and ignorant of what I wanted in life to make it.
Ski trail last Tuesday was beautiful.
Until I got to the portion that the park board decided to plow up in preparation for summer. Apparently it's vitally important that the parking lot of a little-used chunk of parkland that doesn't even open until April 1st be fully plowed two weeks early, at the expense of the ski trail when there's two feet of base.
Very Minnesotan of them, though. Bikinis are hot commodities in February, and sweater season begins after the 4th of July. We ain't very good at living in the moment.
I am very happy w/all the snow we are getting, and more on the way. Looks like Spring skiing is gonna be great this year, which I of course love. However, I have a lot of work to do on my boat, and I am dying to go Sailing, just F'ng dying. This means I will have to A: give up ski days to work on the boat and B: at some point make a decision as to whether I'd prefer to Ski or Sail. Theres a non-PC name for this type of problem. This is the stuff I ponder when I'm trying to sleep!
I also can't make a decision to save my life. There's a cool indoor rowing competition at my Gym in May, I know I can do well and it will be fun, however, giving up a Saturday in May to row for hours, and get nowhere, in a warehouse - well, that's not overly appealing.
I think it's safe to say my problems are pretty minor, which is a good thing!
you're not the lord of the flies
Why does every job want me to relocate dammit? Fuck you guys and your lack of sunshine and green chile.
Getting an accurate answer from the IRS is apparently more unlikely than my clients being able to pay their taxes.

Project Management. The overhead is ridiculous. If my Project Manager could make Project Management decisions for themselves and not involve me in every one of them I'd be able to better accept questions from the Project Manager about why my actual technical tasks aren't progressing as fast as they'd like. I don't much like meetings, especially ones I have nothing to add to. Plus, if I answer a question with a one word unambiguous answer, something along the lines of "Yes" or "No", do you need to ask clarification on what I meant? And do you have to do it with Instant Messaging and then send "ty" to interrupt me one more time? And speaking of interrupting me - don't come over to my desk, interrupt me and then say "You don't have to look at it now."
Just the fucking weather. That's all.
First day of spring. Lots of people out. I live on 15th which is basically a side street, but 14th is a major cross Manhattan artery. You know the Yogi Berra quote, "That place is so crowded no one goes there any more." That's 14th. So the shortcutters use 15th to try to blast through to wherever. Just 15 minutes ago, I am walking back to my house and I hear this roar at my corner. This black hired car (they are all black and all driven by homicidal maniacs) - a mini van - tried to turn right off 5th Ave and thread the needle between people crossing the crosswalk. Bang! he hits an elderly lady square on, she falls down, hits her head and doesn't move. People rush over to her, others start screaming at the driver of the mini van. At first, he wants them to move the old lady so he can get through! But then it is apparent that the people around him are likely to pull him apart, limb from limb so he shuts up and turns off his car. However, cars behind him want to turn right. NY drivers are like Rainman behind the wheel - must turn right must turn right must turn right. So they start trying to squeeze by on either side of the stopped hired car! Again, people tending to the lady block the way, but one taxi keeps pushing forward, pushing forward. This big guy steps out of the crowd, reaches through the taxi window and grabs the taxi driver by the collar! Taxi driver retreats as the ambulance arrives. Meanwhile a cop car has pulled up, the cops have surveyed the scene from the comfort of their cruiser, and then left. There are no police officers at the scene at all. The lady is conscious now but totally disoriented. The EMT's are helping her, people are helping her, people are blocking traffic and preventing cars from trying to squeeze by, and someone is keeping the hired car driver from leaving while (I guess) they wait for a cop?
I love people and I fucking hate people. So many people on this planet are a total waste of flesh and just take up space that could otherwise be used for much much better things. But god bless the people who helped the lady and blocked the cars. They got no help from the cops. I don't even pretend to understand NYPD any longer. They spend afternoons writing jaywalking tickets and ticketing cyclists for running through lights, and here is a little old lady walking across the street with the light in a crosswalk and she gets run over and nada? I don't understand. Maybe some special patrol will appear to handle the accident report later? That cop car was there for a handful of minutes and I never saw anyone get out of the car.
I don't understand.
Not that important......but
Ordering something called 'Fresh Fruit Salad' in a restaurant and getting something that's been in a can since 1971 and completely enveloped in enough sticky sugar syrup to put a healthy man into a diabetic coma.
