Not enough time to do everything I need to do.
Risk and Audit group sends a request for information - what is this application all these people are granted access to and what might they do with this access?
The "application"? The system function that allows you to sign on to the system interactively.
Yeah, we gots us some qualified auditors.
My grump is people who post grumps on days other than Thursday after TT has repeated the rules over and over and over.
Maybe this thread should be locked for a few weeks to give some people a chance to figure out when something called "Thursday" is.
My company hired a new PM for my team. He sucks. He can not estimate time. He can not produce anything. He's also a dick about having things look his way in drawing sets. Lastly, and maybe the worst, he smokes once an hour then I have to sit next to him, about 3 feet, we have an open office plan.
First nice day in about a month and my neck is too sore to ride; hard enough to hold my head up. No idea what happened, just woke up yesterday in bad shape.
znfdl, Tom, and Sean Curran--->> We are all living the same world, it seems. Where I work, (large healthcare concern/academic med ctrs) the Internal Audit and Security teams are merely onerous timesuckers, not proactive business partners. Like any bureacracy...their prime directive has become self-perpetuation. When we do have a data breach of any sort, my experience is it's easier to have my IT teams work directly with Legal to sort things out. With the,(valid) importance of protecting people's health information always being a paramount concern, these audit teams realize they've got an organizational golden egg. But bring me some Game, mother-effer, if you really wanna be a Player. I take my annual audit findings to the board myself...no way I'd let those Internal Audit jokers talk about my org to anyone up the food chain.
The three of you talking about other peoples grumps owe me 25 pushups and 10 burpees.

I have been grumping about a major project for nearly two months now, and even posted anti-grumps in the Friday thread a few times I saw a light at the end of the tunnel.
Multiple conf calls at odd hours every weekend, days where the 'real' work doesn't even begin until after a 6pm meeting etc. I feel like a first year IB analyst.
Done yet? Nope- still underway. Maybe tomorrow will be different.
my name is Matt
Best weather of the year this weekend and my wife's mother is coming to town to visit (first time in two years). Wishing she would have picked an icy weekend so I didn't miss out on rare outdoor riding time.
People who won't ship items that they post on craigslist (even after I offer to send cash or a check). I find awesome wheels at a decent deal, but now I have to pay someone else to pack them up and ship them making it an average or below price.
I had a very hot date tonight for a singular event. Hot. And against my better judgement I was really looking forward to it, even timing my shave to have the perfect (as in irresistible) amount of scruff. Not a beard, never a beard - cool scruff/shadow. She has the flu, bad flu. The kind where I wrapped my whole face in a scarf while delivering Gatorade and ginger-ale to her, for fear of catching something that appears to have come from the swamps of the Amazon. At least I'll be skiing this wknd. No, not at least: I will be skiing ths wknd and I am fucking pumped!!!!
you're not the lord of the flies
Hangdover with leg cramps. Walking is also a terrible activity, whoever thought bipedal was a solid evolutionary trait, should be ticketed

I wrecked my foot running. Also, I ran.
And the word dollup.
Gouged my fore finger putting up a shelf, right where it bends. It hurts and I think I may be becoming wimp. Grrrrr
The flu. I felt it on Saturday was on my back Sunday and am still in bed today with a fever.
My favorite hen died on Sunday... and my hands hurt, a lot. WTF... arthritis?
My Wife is out of work, raising our 14 month old daughter and 9 year old son. It's important to both of us that she does this and I will not grump about that. I have plenty of other stuff to grump about.
So my 20+ year old hvac system has been breathing it's last labored gasps this winter. It took a shit one night a few weeks ago when it was 0°. My house is so poorly insulated that I might as well open the front door. It was ~42° inside when we woke up. Luckily, it was something simple - like, after I watched the guy fix it; I figure I could have fixed it myself, simple. That cost me a couple hundred bucks. Last week, it took a shit again. This time, its more serious. I need multiple parts + time = $1000$. Oh, and because its been taking a shit (and fucking cold) my electric bill is 3-4 times what it should be. I'm at the point where I need to replace rather than repair. A new system, is $6-9k. I've spent this week trying to figure out how the hell I'm going to pay for it all. Not enough equity, piss poor credit, my piddly 401k loan isn't gonna cut it, our dwindling savings account, and my wife's lack of income has me stressed to the max.
On top of all this, I get home last night and my wife gives me a rash of shit about a "dirty house." She half calls it my fault "because I didnt take the kids out" this past weekend (she was out all damned day Saturday) so she could clean the house. My family puts nothing where it belongs - like, tea bags and food wrappers sit on the counter, three feet away from the trash can. Junk mail accumulates with a trash can four feet in one direction and the recyle bin a few feet in the other. The Brita pitcher sits on the counter, all day, a foot and a half away from the fridge. Dirty diapers get thrown on the garage floor for me to pick up later. My son, leaves his clothes and toys strewn throughout the entire house, and yard regardless of how many times he's told not to. Never mind the fact that he has the entire second floor as a "play area". I built him a nice bike for xmas and he left it in the street overnight. My daughter is 14 months old. At this point, she only knows how to take things from one place and leave them somewhere else. Kid stuff... everyfuckingwhere. I work all day and come home to shit all over the place. After dinner I "like" to clean up the kitchen and sometimes get shit for cleaning up rather than spending time with the family. RUFUCKINGSERIOUS?
My wife tells me she's stressed out about the "state of our house" citing it's lack of organization almost all of which is not my fault. For real??? All I want is a glass of cold fucking water once in a while. Is that too much to ask?
I barely recognize the world I live in versus the world that I grew up in.
Basic civility is gone. Everybody is after your money. Crimes go unpunished & eventually accepted. Vile lyrics on the radio, vile movies, vile images on TV - all common place. Big important newpapers are in the business of going out of business. Network news has more in common with Jerry Springer than journalism. Folks don't discuss politics or individual issues, its all "I am Red, and Blue sucks" or " I am Blue and Red sucks". University Department heads KNOWINGLY encourage children to enroll (and pay) for programs that will NOT provide employment. Idiots opting to purchase the $4 hammer from China instead of the $6 hammer from the US, then they can't figure out why the hammer factory across town closed. An ultimate lack of consideration for others.
Yadda yadda yadda. Seriously thinking about retiring someplace out-of-country. It won't be hard because I honestly barely recognize this place anymore.
bay area housing prices, real estate speculators, the return of "repaint the kitchen and flip this house for $80k more than you paid", etc.
also, my drug dealer neighbors.
