    The MOOTS tour was awesome...
It was great, because it happened to be a quiet Monday morning...and it was just me on the tour!
I got to spend a bit of extra time in the mitering and welding area, as well as watched a few frames being aligned on their 600 lb table.
They even allowed me to take some photos!! Very cool people with a state of the art production shop.
(also had to purchase some new MOOTS laundry to take back home.)

I'm itching to get back to work though...

    Badge work thru the week...

Cutting the parts and cleaning them up took a lot of time.
    Worth it in the end.

It was tricky poking the holes in the back plate...alignment was a bitch.
I started with a pair, then pinned it to a scrap block of wood.
I added pins as pairs of holes were drilled, repeating until everything lined up and the holes were finished.

Here is a shot of the 'dry' parts ready for welding.

Here are the pins, and the final mock of what will be my headtube badge:

At the risk of sounding like a smart a$$, shouldn't you have bent it to the curve of your HT first? Now the holes will be pulled out of alignment and the edge of the base plate will stick out on the sides after bending.

I do like the design with the rivets.

All parts will be welded together, then bent. No variable stretching will occur when it becomes one solid piece.
The material is thin, and should easily wrap around the headtube.
    Thanks for watching.

I am sure many are thinking the same as me: stop with the head badge, and braze that frame together. No disrespect intended, but after all that buildup, its getting frustrating with the lack of seeing the most important part of the work.

It is...how it is. I hope to get to the main triangle this weekend. I cannot rush this thing...so far it's turned out as I expected.
Half the room wants me to practice more, the other half of the room wants me to hurry. LOL
When I get off on a tangent (i.e headtube badge) that's the direction that I go...
until my OCD directs me otherwise.
One day I could wake up, and just chop it into tiny pieces because of one slight error. No margin for margins.
    Off week.
Sobriety comes first...ZEN and filing play their part to keep me on track.

That's the great thing about frame building. Everybody does it differently.

count me in both halves of the room. Hurry and practice more. No really, your instincts are good and go at your pace. I think so far most of us are impressed. You show a little more skill with fab and problem solving than most have on the first frame. Good luck on the rest of the steps. Keep working it out and moving along.

Do I still have to binge on Indian food wrapped in pizza while guzzling Jolt? Will my eyes bleed at the end like after my 12 hour Breaking Bad marathon?

Try to get back to work on the frame soon.
Thanks for lookin' out for me.

Life gets in the way sometimes. I haven't touched the tools in almost 2 months now. Setting us a new acreage is a lot of time commitment. Keep your head above water. I know all about the ups and down with ADHD, OCD, and the seasonal depressions people including myself experience. You mention needing to maintain sobriety as well. That is much more important than a frame. I get the insomnia in the summer, and can't get out of bed in the winter without natural lighting and whopping doses of stimulants (which work great for the ADHD BTW.)

Check out this link: Treating Bipolar Depression

Browse this site it has a lot of great info out there that most clinicians miss. I direct all of my ADHD/SAD/Atypical Depression/Bipolar Depression clients there.
