"Havlicek steals the ball..."
A Boston classic moment by a Boston sports great.
RIP Hondo.

Re: John Havlicek Dead at 79
I read a great book titled "A sweet spot in time" by author John Jerome. It's a book about athletic achievement. John Havlicek is referenced in that book and is mentioned as having greater peripheral vision than the average person. I remember watching him play and thinking he had eyes behind his head. Great player and great person. Never heard or read anything negative about him.
RIP Hondo.

My mother's 2nd favorite basketball player. #1 was Bill Russell. She met both at one time or another, and neither could do wrong. They should have won every championships. Robbed every time they lost. Her heroes - Bobby Kennedy, Martin Luther King and the Celtics, not necessarily in that order.

They were not "robbed" many times.
