Some of us guys without a lathe or mill might go for a time saving tool. I realize you put a lot of time into them though. Maybe it'd be a good idea to offer something up on your blog?

The rock star is dying. And it's a small tragedy. Rock stars have blogs now. I have no use for that kind of rock star.

I appreciate the kudos folks! However.. no.. I do not do contract work. Nor am I interested in selling on the blog. I do work for those close to me and in need of specialized bits and bobs. The machines I have access to are not mine. My personal work is done when times are slow or when the N.C. machines are on a long run cutting stuff out. Its also simply to keep my chops up and improve my skills...Much to remember.. use it or lose it Yo!!!
I would however share drawings and whatever trade experience I have. Not being bold here.. just saying
Thanks again, C
Thanks Tom! The main rail I used was 'in hand' so to speak.. left over from a work job and what was needed. As you know its an extrusion. Its some Rexroth stuff and for all intents and purposes very dimentionally accurate. For example.. the front tower that holds the shell is fit to a saddle plate that rides the O.D. of the rail sides. The saddle slides along the rail for CS length adjust. The fit is honeymoon along the entire length of the rail. The anodizing is also deeper than most applications that I have seen. Good stuff the rexroth and is more than accurate enough for tacking frames!
wade,
thanks for the info. I've not heard of rexroth. time for a google search on it. I've been kicking around the idea of modifying my fixture a bit. I'm not happy with the rear dummy axle assembly on it. thanks for sharing pics of that fixture. I really enjoyed checking it out.
