A Ford Taurus station wagon? Saw a super clean one parked in someone's yard...$1500. You can barely buy any running car for $1500 these days.

What was the vintage?

I owned a Sable wagon for years. My wife and I referred to it as our "donkey" - It was a beast of burden that required very little of us.

Years ago I worked for a firm that had a fleet of 20 or so "Taurii" as we referred to them, mixed with a few Sables...everybody wanted the wagons as they were pretty practical vehicles. We bought the cars used from Hertz with 20-30K on them and ran them up to 175K, as they were mostly highway miles driven by our field engineers. Almost without exception, employees bought the cars when we retired them and they let their teenage kids drive them into the ground. More than a few of cars were in serious accidents and in all cases the Taurii did their job in protecting the driver.

That vintage - late 90s? White. I'm sure it would be dirt cheap to run, which can't be said of a Volvo or VW from that era. And easy to fix, which also can't be said of a Volvo or VW from that era.

Photo taken by a friend at a car show in Atlanta. This is the only pic he took and I have no info other than what you can see here.

It's an Acura Integra with a twin turbo V8 in the back. I imagine it's brutal to drive, there's nothing separating the engine from the drivers compartment, so tons of noise and heat. Note the blow-off valves are pointed right at the heads of the occupants. Ugh.

My suspicion is the stock drivetrain (front engine, front wheel drive) is still intact and that's what is used to actually drive the car around haha.

I forgot about this Jag...original owner and I see the car all about the town in the Summer and the Fall. I always ask the owners to remember me in their will as the Jag would have a good home with me. Her husband (older gent with the green wristband and tan cap) always jokes that I can take his wife before the car and she always jokes that the car and her are a package deal...yes they are.

RW there was a woman at my College who drove a Cosworth Twin cam in the winter and the same vintage Jag in warm months.
Taste, class and style is no accident.

got some new wheels and tires for the Mustang. These are 18x10 inch wheels with 275/40/18 Nitto NT01 tires. The square set-up really tightens things up and these tires are amazing. There probably just on the other side of prudent as a street tire- but they really grip incredibly.\\

next step is to put the big late model NASCAR style spoiler on the trunk lid which i'm hoping will increase the downforce on the rear wheels- but will most likely just decrease the top speed by a lot, slow the car down, and further worsen the gas mileage. Rebuilt carb. done! Back on the road. Just back from a spin around the block, time to change the oil and put some miles on her.
I'm not sure I've ever posted pics. of this one. "Buck" the truck was sourced by a broker as a complete, not very rusty farm truck. The worst of it was shot out windows and a seized engine. I farmed out the bodywork and did most of the remainder myself beginning around 15 years ago. The orig. 216 died a ugly death a few winters back when I was hauling a load of firewood while towing my trailer. Outside temps were in the teens and no heat in the cab, driving way too fast threw a rod. A nice man who used to work the engine line at GM built a fantastic full pressure 235 that will outlast all of us. During the rebuild I found a 4 spd. from a wrecker and replaced the column shift that was hitting my legs. Twelve volt is the only other non-original aspect of the truck. It is a truck with a capitol "T". We used her to haul all the roofing and building materials from the building center to our house to build a two car garage (you can see the garage behind) . Loaded her up past the bed sides and never touched the overload springs ;) My buddy said "that load would flatten my 1/2 ton". haha. Great truck, I've had many years of pleasure from her.
There are a few paint scrapes and I've hauled gawd knows in the bed however the truck was always garaged. I never got around to installing windshield wipers or interior bits...kinda like it that way. I'm imagining someone else will own this piece of history someday and do the same.
The VIN is quite a story. Ply me with beers sometime and I'll tell all. (teaser) It involved the ultimate Eastern Shore, MD good old boy network and some quick thinking ;)

Too Tall, something like that there cost me $432 the other day. I'm out riding and a Ford of that era went by, green with black fenders. When I got home I got on the phone and asked "Too late to anodize it green? And can the fork be black?"

When I pick the right six numbers something like that is on the list. Useable and beautiful. But not a Ford. It's always been Chevrolets that I liked.

Never underestimate the power of knocking on a farmers door with long green in hand.

LOL. Go figure? The only other new design chevy truck I know of nearby is three blocks away owned by a local architect. Dave designed and built most of the public pools in our county and is the unnamed designer of our garage. Everyone waves thinking I'm Dave's brother ;( Dave, bless his heart, leaves nasty notes on my truck "put some 'ing windshield wipers on ok? I love that guy.

I have to travel to Seattle tomorrow so I made time to attend the races today with Mrs. RW and we checked out 3,500 cars...yes 3,500...of the most awesome cars that gather in Schenley Park every July for the Pittsburgh Vintage Gran Prix. The 50th anniversary of the BMW 2002 was the theme but the British cars always seem to have the majority of attendance...no complaints from me. Here are a few pics for you gear heads to drool over.

I grew up next to a golf course. The club owned a Chevy pick up similar to yours. When crossing the driving range, it was a great target. The perfect shot was a punch 2-iron. LOL
