FYI, for those researching their next vehicle, Fuelly is pretty cool. It's an app you can use to track fuel mileage as well as any maintenance or other services done to your car. But, likely best of all, you can also browse the website and see the actual MPG people are getting in the real world. The numbers shown are not whatever the car's computer shows, but actual mileage (miles driven divided by gallons used).

    Pretty handy.

    I'm frustrated with work today.

I have a lot of shop space at our new place.

Maybe I'll start a business giving Volvo 240 and 940 wagons a mild Icon treatment...

I think we are going to trade in our 2017 V60 for one of these in a couple years if Volvo's hybrid engine holds up well. Sure is a nice looking car imho.

I really like the looks of new Volvo wagons but I'm sad that manual transmissions aren't an option.

Don't think this really is worthy, but it is a solution to do I really have to settle on bringing only one set of wheels....Pretty clever and amusing in person....

Our landlords up here in Hillsdale are selling their 2008 VW Passat Wagon 3.6 4motion with less than 100,000 miles. I only mention it here because of the VSalon's small AWD wagon appreciation society. Not sure of the exact details, but if anyone is interested, let me know and I'll put you in touch.

As a Brit it always makes me smile when something like a Passat Wagon is considered a small vehicle :-)

Have you ever seen a Chevrolet Suburban or Ford Excursion? When you do you'll understand why a Passat is considered 'small'. Passats are a light snack for these monsters (and other similarly over-the-top trucks) that are everywhere in the US.

The 3.6 engine makes the Passat scoot. The car evidently included some sort of sport package. Not clear what that included. But as I said, I can get more details if there is interest.

Yep, we know all about them. They’d be pointless to own in the UK as fuel is too expensive and they’d be too big for 90% of the roads.

Story from the owner of the house we rent in Lucca Italy - a US state department employee rented the house and had their government issue Chevy Suburban driven up from Rome to the house. When the wife and kids arrived, they were cautioned by locals and the house owners not to drive it into any villages. A couple weeks later they jammed the truck in between two sixteenth century buildings in a small hilltop village called Tereglio. There are a lot of other details (and more details every year it is told) but suffice it to say it is now part of local legend.

So, do you think that is really better than a base 911? The only weight savings is the rear window and the door handles. Kind of reminds of " paint to sample".

It's not better, you can spec a base 911 the same way except for rear wheel steering and this low weight glass. I just wanted to test the MT. What I would really like is a GT3 touring with MT but these are impossible to get with the allocation of GT cars BS. I actually love mine, it was just a good way to spend some time on Sunday afternoon. 7 speed is a bit much in a MT though.
