    The C30 was pretty sweet. And they made a T5 R-design model.

    Hopefully they abandoned that short-term money-saving plan and resumed a premium approach.
    The cars do not feel cheap or corner cutting in any way. They just jumped back into the market in a very technologically aggressive way. Turbo and s/c on the same engine, all new electronics and infotainment, etc. The materials, seats, designs are really top notch.

    Its weird that I forgot about the C30, because I was behind one for a while today, thinking about how good it looks from behind. I don't think the same can be said for the front, unless we're talking about the higher trim level ones, as mentioned below.

    If that V60 achieves the same ubiquity as did the P2 V70XC circa 2001-04, the world will be a better place.

    I often see a black V90 (with the tan leather) parked out there. I slow down and drink it in every time.

    That is a really sharp-looking station wagon.

    This will likely be a failing endeavor. Why? The V90s are ORDER ONLY.

    Your only hope is finding a dealer brave enough to have ordered one to display, which is probably pretty rare.

    One of my coworkers still daily drives her red C30. The only Volve that I’ve ever craved.

    right?

    i think a big bumper detomaso pantera that's missing an engine would be the perfect car for your budget of 30-40k.

    The fish ride wasn't enough so I did another 35 miles along the Hudson and beyond. But found a car place that seemed to have something for everyone here...not one of them makes sense in Manhattan yet there they were...so I will just throw it in the thread...(sorry for the photo dump it was just too good to pass up)

    It does high priced luxury/cult/rarity rentals to individuals, movies, TV shoots, advertisements, etc. They took over the old NYPD stables that were on a pier near the midtown ferry terminal. I think you can also become a member, and they have a sort of club in the building. And membership means you can "check out" cars periodically.

    That Syncro is boss.

    So, with my new job I’ll be working from home, making my 98 4Runner somewhat superfluous.
    Not planning to sell it right away - might tuck it away as a toy for the next handful of years. Thinking about new bumpers (the front chrome one is caved in) and maybe a two tone paint job. Solid color with a white roof. What says the peanut gallery?

    Bumper=safety. Paint=meh.

    Just get someone to wax it with some kind of super wax buffing wheel thing and live with the patina.

    Have you considered something from the British Leyland Group? For thirty to forty thousand dollars you could have the most pristine example of British engineering, proud Union Labor and attention to detail- and an automobile truly built with neither an eye to profit, longevity, performance, or style. An ur-car symbolizing all that was great before Maggie Thatcher ruined everything.
