My derragatory reference was for Moore who flogged his horse infront of cameras while planting his heels in a vain attempt to get the horse to rear. THAT was awful.
Moore? I don't think he was trying to spur his horse to get him to rear, I just think he had a poor seat and was losing his balance as he jerked his poor horse's head around with that great big gag bit in it's mouth. Lucky for him the horse was bomb proof.
In movies, I never really see horsemanship except maybe Seabiscuit and Black Stallion

Re: Binge Watching Series Recommendations
HOw many series have you watched w/ the same pattern and dynamics? There is the FBI manhunt: a shy young agent (the actor hiding his star appeal behind bad haircuts and introvert body language) obsessed w/the serial killer. The murderer becomes his metaphorical only friend wasn´t for a love interest who battles the insanity taking over. We watch him losing his mind while a lot of good actors play his experienced bosses with no clue. IN the end his cold bt innocent intelect solves the puzzle.
It´s obscene when you think there is real suffering and tragedy behind those cliches.
Godless and a few others are exceptionally good when they break the mold.
slow.

Re: Binge Watching Series Recommendations
We just started Punisher on Netflix, good so far. We got bored with some of the other Marvel shows like Jessica Jones and Daredevil...they both seemed to go on longer than they should. We'll see how Punisher holds up, we're only two episodes in so far.
Marvel's Runaways on Hulu is good too so far.

Re: Binge Watching Series Recommendations
Has anyone here watched Dark on Netflix? I'm gearing up for a transcontinental flight with only limited space on my iPad so this is an important decision.

I've heard it's good. It's german, so you unless you speak the language you'll have to read the subtitles. Which is fine on a plane....what else are you going to do?

I'm learning the language which is why it intrigues me.
Now I need to decide whether to listen in German with English or German subtitles, or listen in English with German subtitles. I'm flying Delta so I'll probably have time for both.

We mentioned it earlier, yes, It’s VERY good. First episodes build slowly, be patient, it’s worth it!

I just finished season 1 of Glitch on Netflix. It’s pretty good so far. I had avoided it because I thought it another silly zombie flick based on the description of the series. It’s not, and it’s entertaining.

Re: Binge Watching Series Recommendations
Dark is amazing. What I don't understand is why anyone other than me in America likes it. I spent a lot of time in a small German town called Grunwald outside of Giessen as a teenager and I can tell you the show captures small town Germany perfectly, poignantly and with a tragic human beauty that was simply surreal to me. Most folks love it for the sic-fi time travel nature of time and space shit- but all that is just bullshit allegory for me that really is just a way to point to the truths about Germany, Germans, the pastoral, and what history, time, people, culture and family are in Germany despite the terrors modernity has tortured the Germans with in really unspeakable terms. It was quite simply, the most amazing piece of story telling or German Pastoral Romantic Story Telling I have experienced since Effi Briest by Theodor Fontane and Goethe's Die Leiden des judges Werthers.
Please please watch it with the subtitles.

I think all the Marvel shows on NF have been too long. Good but if they could try and do less in fewer episodes I think they all could have been great series. Except Iron Fist. That one sucked from beginning to end.
I'm glad to see Ash vs Evil Dead S1 is finally on NF. I have heard a lot about it but couldn't get it before.

Re: Binge Watching Series Recommendations
Check out Wormwood. It's an Errol Morris docudrama about MK Ultra that just popped up on Netflix the other day without any fanfare that I've seen. It's awesome and crazy and easily bingeable (maybe 4-5 hours total).
