I really like that Alpina.

I am looking for something under $300 that would serve as a decent entry into the watch world.

I have my Withings Steel HR that is a nice understated watch I can wear casually regardless of the situation, but i do want something with a bit more panache also.

Wondering if anyone has experience with Tsovet watches?

I really like the Milanese band and styling on this one and a few others, but don't know a ton about them.

I have a thing for black watches too. This is only $300 and looks pretty sweat for an automatic watch.

I am giving some serious consideration to a Seiko SARB033. All reviews I read say that it's a lot of watch for the money.

I picked up a Seiko similar in styling to that watch, but with a titanium case and a cheaper quartz movement that's been serving me very well for the past year or so. They're nice watches and feel like a great value.

On the very rare occasions that I do not wear my Apple Watch these days, that is the Watch I wear. Wore it every day for th best part of 2 years before the Apple Watch came into the picture.

I have been wearing automatics as a "work watch" for the past 5 or 6 years. I have a small collection, mostly Seikos, Orients, and a Ball Fireman Racer my wife surprised me with for a birthday.

Recently I had some business in London with some peers. I was frankly shocked at how out-watched I was wearing my Orient. Where most of the Americans were wearing Timex Ironman or G-Shocks (yes, even with dress clothes), our colleagues were all wearing something Swiss and a bit more high end. I actually spent my free time for a couple of days chasing down a Sinn U1. Between the exchange rate and the non-Watchbuys pricing, it was very enticing. Unfortunately I couldn't find one nearby to bring home with me.

Got home, found I had a bit of extra money come in, and wanted something a bit higher end. I've wanted an Omega Seamaster for a while (my wife wears one daily) and finally found one that I was willing to go deep on.

Shinola is polarizing, I know. My wife surprised me with this Brakeman for our anniversary. I love it. It has a nice heft to it and it's well made with interesting details. Unique, without being overdone or over the top. I love it. I like what Shinola is doing, even if their marketing outpaces their ouevre in some (many) cases.

Probably a few seconds a day depending on how often you wear it and how long since it's been serviced.

Cool. Thanks Matthew. I set min to one of the online sites because I know of no real standards. Then I check the page every day or so. The watch was just serviced for the second time since I took delivery.

I'm in the habit of setting my watch on the first of every month; and my Longines is usually about 3 minutes or so ahead by that time. I'm OK with that. I think the key is consistency on that figure. It's about the same every month. A big step change in accuracy or inconsistent gain/loss is more cause for concern.

keeps great time only loss of a few minutes each week which is indicative for any hand crafted time piece..
never use north pointer or date.., just the RS logo a reminder 7/24..
never serviced.., more than i can say for ole rolex i received from the ole man when i walked of post in civvies - 1969..
a daily wear..
on third surgical watch band -- atmo red, original black and now back to atmo red.. rascals cost $100 smacks each.. have 2 in waiting..

I was going to buy a Seiko SARB, but after searching a little further I settled on a Tissot Visodate. I love its style, and usefulness. So far I am very happy with it!
