I'm from Missoula, MT but have been living in Chicago since 1998 and was a frequent driver of 94 through NoDak even before that. Over years of making that Chicago to Missoula drive (which is woefully infrequent these days), Theo Roosevelt Nat'l. Park and Sentinal Butte are must-stop attractions for me. Cool, underrated part of the country.

My 6th grade girls vball team is wrapping up another great season tomorrow morning. Just need to TCB and we'll stay in first place. Annual last-practice Parent/Player scrimmage last night was a blast, too. Hope these girls remember this little 'era' of their life for many years to come. I certainly will.
On the work side, I set up a meeting next week with one of our seemingly countless VPs about creating a position for me to help make this company some money... and look good doing so (company, not me). We'll see how this plays out, but I need to be challenged again creatively.
Going to see Pearl Jam tonight at The Wells Fargo center in Philadelphia. It'll be the second time I've seen Eddie since I've been sober, and the third time in all.
First time was my first ever show of any sort and I spent the first half of it passed out in my seat as a fourteen year old back in 1996 I think it was. That was during the Pearl Jam standing up to the man era when they took on Ticket Master for what they considered price gouging.
Last time was the very last show ever of any kind at The Spectrum around 2010ish and was absolutely amazing. Newly sober back then and wondering how on earth I'd ever be able to enjoy myself out at events like that in sobriety. Completely rewrote my personal perspective of a good time. STOKED right now!
Ride Bikes and Rock On!
justin rogers.
In 11 hours I'll be on a plane with a great group of guys to go to Italy to ride bikes, drink beer, and talk shit, not necessarily in that order. I've had a rough couple weeks at work and this trip couldn't have come at a better time. There might be a little Giro watching as well if things work out.

Matt..
Bravissimo! Enjoy that.
I was fortunate to see it in 2013. Antonio got us all access wristbands, it was an amazing experience.
The podium girls are definitely all they are cracked up to be.
Ciao!
I have a date w/very very beautiful woman this eve.
you're not the lord of the flies
The last college regatta. If it's half as exciting as last week's she'll be going out with a big bang.

GO!
I would hardly call myself proficient yet on my new machine, but I'm less behind it than I was a week ago. The Boeing 737 is a bizarre mix of old tech and new tech and has much higher performance than my last airplane. Making progress.
Oh, and the best part? I have more time to ride my bike now that training is mostly finished!
OK, it's Sunday ...
This beast keeps growing ..
Blaze continues to grow, expected to reach Saskatchewan border, fire official says - The Globe and Mail
But I now have news that everyone I know who is up there is out and safe, houses lost but out.
One client that we know of has lost their business, but they are out.
200,000 hectares and growing, 90,000 people evacuated. No one dead.
That's worth a retroactive Friday eff-yeah.
As I was wandering around the yard last night, scraping bear poop off my shoe and thinking about the day I thought “if the traffic and bike riders today were an indication of what this summer has in store, I may just break down and buy a bus pass” – I mentioned this to my wife who calmed me down and pointed out that it is probably the result of all the road work going on and people looking for alternate routes.
She is probably right, that means it’s only going to be stupid for another 5 months or so.
Then I got on the bike this morning, the sun was shining, birds are active, even the drivers didn’t get me worked up this morning …
A glorious day. Tomorrow, the beer-fest. It’s all good.[/SIZE]
I found an apartment in the neighborhood I'd like to be in, that is dog friendly (and has another dog residing within), within budget, and room for a couple of bikes. Happy like a clam.
I got a nice raise this week. I'm making 157% of what I did this time last year at my old job. I'm doing interesting work. Perhaps more importantly, I'm working with smarter, kinder, funnier, and more competent people. It's amazing what a job does to your outlook on life.
Grump: I'm comparing ETFs instead of framesets. Adulting is laaaaame.
my new old car is in possession, which came from a good friend and I cant keep the excitement in. its really unique and has enough power to both get into and out of trouble.
Car dudes: Toyota 1jz vvti. 300hp/280torque (in factory settings...before the high flow exhaust and intercooler) in a seemingly old man 4 door sedan with "rims".

The local Drive-In movie has grown from 3 screens to 4 to 5 to 6 to 7 screens.
Best place to see big summer movies like Capt. America Civil War :)
I love the Drive-In!
I am in Northampton until Monday. About to begin a series of parties, processions, and celebrations.
The kid is graduating. Hell yeah.
