Ritchey Breakaway hardware

Hello Velocipede Salonistas,

I am trying to get my hands on some of the hardware needed to make a Ritchey Breakaway style travel bike. I have sent a couple of emails via the contact links on the Ritchey website, but no response. Does anyone here know of a contact person at Ritchey that i could speak with directly? Alternately, does someone have some hardware that they'd be willing to sell me? Drop me a line! Thanks,

Dylan,

the guy to talk to used to be Nate. They were really good about selling me the stuff once they figured out I knew what to do with it. You have to buy a license, and it's good for only the year you buy it. That said, the whole shebang costs less than an equivalent set of S&S couplers.

I tried to order two kits in titanium this winter. They have discontinued making the titanium kits and had only partial kits with no clamps or seat tube joints.

Well you could make the seat post slip fit binders pretty easy, and an S&S is nicer IMO then the Ritchey DT coupler.

For that matter, the down tube ends could be made on a lathe pretty easy. You can buy the clamps from any number of sources.

Have you seen the Santana coupler? They sell them and I think they're pretty darn clever.

Ritchey only made the DT coupler in 1.375" for titanium anyway and the seat tube section was kind of junky. The surface finish was terrible and I opted to make my own.
