[QUOTE=roseyscot;757516]These "football is family" ads are terrible.[/]

Actually my wife just corrected me about the incidence of domestic violence on SBS, so I corrected it. But I agree the ads are terrible.

I like the dachshunds dressed as hot dogs running across the field to the people in ketchup and mustard suits.

Perhaps Cam & co should win a Superbowl before acting like they already had.

Lady GaGa: didn’t realize she could really sing.

Why can’t all players take off those head condoms during the national anthem? Show some respect.

Now that Payton looks like he’s going to tie Eli with 2 SB wins, he can retire and just go away…please.

Do you think Eli ever drew on Paytons forehead with a sharpie when P was sleeping?

Remember when the commercials featured hot women? One couldn’t hurt...

    Halftime: Lame.

Best look of the game was Eli's face when his brother iced the game with the touchdown + two point conversion.

    Always the little brother.

Noticed that, too. I'm sure the meme world was screen-capturing.

Just means Eli will have to win another Lombardi trophy to retake the lead.
Giants vs Pats this time next year?

That defensive TD was nuts. LT-esque.

i like Cam and really wanted to see a Carolina firing on all cylinders... Von is an amazing ball player though. he's a one man team and a difference maker. i couldn't give a shit about Satan Manning but I guess it's a good way to go out- although that was a boring game.

i think the superbowl mvp thing was cool and the old guys just look like old guys. i don't think most people look much better or worse at those ages. (although whomever that gentleman was who had his name mentioned as MVP of several Super Bowls- the one everyone booed at who was wearing the sunglasses? that was a very handsome man.)

I tried watching the game in London. It was broadcast live on BBC2. It was unwatchable. BBC doesn't show commercials, so there is so much dead time the announcers have to fill, the game just drags. I made it to the end of Q1 and threw in the towel.

I also thought the MVPs at the beginning looked in rough shape. Most of the MVPs are from the glamor positions (QB, RB, WR) which probably suffer less physical abuse per play. I wonder how linemen, linebackers are looking from those same years. Probably worse shape. Everyone that walked out there looks to be suffering from back pain and knees.

her voice is incredible. there have been a number of female artists over the past 15-ish years that have had absolutely killer vocals, but the money is in pop and autotune.

Is that how Patriots fans get over it? Like Jews on Christmas?

Then you weren't listening. Which can be forgiven, because the aesthetic isn't for everyone. But one of the first things I heard from her was this performance at a radio station in 2009:

There are some details in there that betray a crap ton of training and practice. I can't explain all of them... but as a musician I pick up on stuff that makes it clear, so I had to look it up. She was a Juilliard kid and later was at Tisch. She's the real deal.

Bonus video from time at Tisch:

In thinking last night over...everything wrong about the game and football in general could be fixed if we played Rugby instead.

It's professional sports IMHO. It's all about the spectacle. Nothing more so than SuperBowl.

Exactly, and Rugby is more spectacle.

And I don't get the Manning comments. Experience is knowing how not to lose. sure manning is tired and week, but he didn't give the game away either.

Beyonce and Mars were kinda doing their own haka-off. So, baby steps.

I just drove like 30 hours but took a break in Chicago to watch the game. I didn't think it was an awful game, just a defensive battle. Offense sells tickets. Defense wins championships.

The halftime show was awful though.

I was OK with Satan Manning getting another championship, but they got it in spite of him, not because of him. I can't believe there is serious speculation he might play another season. Brett Favre would be better coming out of retirement, at least on arm strength. Manning is the best student of the game ever probably but his athletic ability is seriously compromised.

    When is Milan-Sanremo again?

My riding buddy works across the street form the stadium and could her her practicing the day before. No surprise to me either that she killed it. Absolutely killed it.

Same thing with Christina Aguilera. Sometimes the voices get lost behind the visual. Even Bey, you may not like her but that woman can sing too.

Chris martin got usurped from his own halftime show. Now that cracked me up.
