drama closing on a house. Learning all about moral hazard
Back at work after a week off, visiting my wife's family in Illinois. yeah, I got to ride most days there, and even found a decent little hill in Starved Rock. Back issues are still present -- I'm gonna see a different chiropractor, one that isn't afraid to put things back in place.
And yesterday met with the evaluators for my 2-year-old's development testing. Seems she's a bit behind in verbal communication, at the 18-month level.

Where to start... I've been off the bike for a month now, and my back/sciatic nerve issue doesn't seem to be improving. Riding is out for now. All I can do is walk on flat ground and do core exercises. For a while I was enjoying the time away from the bike, but now I'm getting antsy.
My Dad is very slowly dying. He has a somewhat rare cancer-like bone marrow disorder, probably from years of exposure to solvents at work. He needs blood transfusions almost weekly now, and my Mom is an anxiety-ridden wreck. And they live on the east coast.
The real estate situation is really pissing me off. We have been renting the same place for 8 years, and it's nice, and they haven't raised the rent, ever. But we really want our own place, and while we've been saving up a decent chunk of change, the real estate has risen way faster than our savings. And since my gf and I commute in opposite directions, we can't really look somewhere cheaper without one of us having a horrible commute. Stuck in our apartment paying below market rent isn't necessarily a bad situation but we were hoping to get our foot in the door by now.
Running on 4hrs of sleep is fine for a day or two. Today is day 4. I'm really tired.
I haven't ridden my bike in nearly 3 weeks and I really miss it. Riding Saturday...but that seems so far away...

Why do people feel the need to list all of their bikes in their signature?
Ran out at lunchtime to swoop into an open house for a just-listed property.
The open house date was wrong.
GO!
Looking at selling our home and moving into a larger one, which isn't the grump.
Dealing with getting everything in place to do this deal and subsequent moving has me running all over like a rabbit on crack.

In the middle of a move, and have ridden exactly once in the last 20 days.
Did I mention I'm in the middle of a move?

Working almost full-time on my vacation in Hawaii last week. Vacation time began at 2:00 pm, when work in the office wrapped up in CA. The weekend was nice also. Suckiest working vacation ever.
Another thread has thrown me a curve ball and I my head is screwed. Want so bad.
