I know it's late, but I am broken. Diagnosis is finally sciatica and I am done with cycling for the next month or more until this heals up.
PT, massage and whatever else I can Google as therapy options start on Monday. Right now, the pain in my lower left spine is nasty and I can't feel my left leg below the knee.
That's be best we can do for them - take care of them when they're with us and remember them fondly when they're gone.
Digging a grave for a pet is not a fun job. I had to do that a bit over a year ago for my 22 year old buddy / cat who finally was too sick to continue, but I'm glad I did that instead of just handing him over and having him cremated. I sort of feel like he's still with us, but living out in the yard instead of inside the house.
Early grump. A pigeon took a massive dump on me. On my head, my white shirt, my pants. Everywhere.
Same grump for the last 114 weeks.
Got some cash
Bought some wheels
Took it out

But we're alright
Just did 3 hours on my new Arione.. and my chapped-ass hurts.
Almost got hit by a few teenagers in a Jeep on Monday. That's the closest call I've ever had. The top was down and I screamed at them.
Yesterday, I got through my first interval. Got into the second one and my legs looked up and laughed "You should eat more during the day, bro!" That empty feeling is terrible.
I'm grumpy, and feeling a bit of regret, as I sit here looking at my dual monitors displaying the TDF, pictures of lukasz in France, and pictures of Jorn in Italy. Why the fuck did I not explore more when I was in school in Europe? I traveled quite a bit, but I could have done more. And I seriously regret that I started cycling upon my return. I missed out on some seriously great rides in Tuscany.
I took another soccer ball in the head last night - this time on my ear. It's still kind of ringing/buzzing.
Auk's words to live by:
Blow up and pin a picture of M. Bartoli on your wall. When you achieve that position, stop. Until then, stretch, ride, stretch, ride, eat less, and ride more.
people I don't want to hear your cell phone ring from 30 feet away, and I sure as hell don't want to hear it sound off everytime you get a tax.

back spasm... ugh.
Wife's ex is the only person I know of who sends a check to the State Disbursement Unit each month for child support, rather than his employer withholding it from his check. It's now July 23rd, CS is due on the 1st. He has until the 30th to pay before he's in trouble.
Check #1: bounced. Again.
Check #2: there was a problem on the gov't's end and "he has to send another check."
Check#3: off in lala land who knows where.
Supposedly.
I deal with CS daily, and yet, I've never experienced this type of...i don't even know what to call it. Negligence?

I had some 9 years of auto-transfer set up with the state for child support payments, with not a single missed or NSF in that account. I make a request to have child support re-computed, and suddenly it HAS to be a paycheck garnishment. With a fee for having it done so. And now some 3 years later it's still the same payment, only now plus the fee.

Not really a grump but a little drama this week. My son swallowed a quarter and we thought it was lodged in his throat. Luckily it made its way down to his stomach. He is in love with this photo primarily because he can see his poop in it.
Its hilarious that he smiles for an x-ray picture. #blessed.

I've developed what I think is a piriformis thing, which is keeping me off the bike and making my car commute uncomfortable. I was having a mid summer blah period with no motivation to ride a few weeks ago, and I rode anyway. Should've listened to my body.
And my Active Release guy who is really good and could probably help me out doesn't have any open appointments until mid August. Not helpful.
Anyone know a good ART or dry needle person in the east bay?
