    Default quick wine rec...

    wife is throwing a beautiful looking spiral cut ham in the oven. going to a pretty stocked wine store in a few hours before dinner to pick something up, ideas?

    Kim Crawford Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc ($16-$20)

    Just a hint of sweet, nice body, slight effervescence...will cut through the salty, smoky hamminess and deliver the goods.

    Nine North Wines Parcel 41. It is generally around 20 dollars. I think a merlot will go nicely with a ham.

    Late the game, but I would have suggested either an Alsatian Riesling or a Dry Trocken German Riesling.
