I use it with a HR and PM, not that I'm training for anything right now. Right now I maintain it because I like the company and want to support them.

I am a premium member. I don't use a HRM or PM and don't plan on ever using them. I signed up to support a really awesome app that I love to use with my friends.
I use it, have a PM and HRM. The basic analytics are nice to use without having to spend a bunch of time learning how to use software (GoldenCheetah, TrainingPeaks) that's way over my head/needs.

I pay for premium. It's worth it to me because I've gotten so much from the service in the form of meeting new people to ride with and to track my mileage and training in a simple interface. Also, the route builder tool is way better than MapMyRide's.
Strava has never calculated/estimated power for stationary activities - unless of course you forget to turn off your GPS and it 'thinks' you are riding around in crazy circles. Strava WILL show your power for stationary activities if you are riding with a powermeter.
Happy to help if you have questions!
do you work for strava?
several times last year I got power estimates on screen, and yes, I turned off the GPS (I do know enough to do that). must have been something buggy with your site, then.
Also, for what it's worth, I'm on Strava Premium too! And we don't get it for free...
If you ask me, the newly re-introduced Premium 'Comparison' tool is one of the better features - however the (Free) Route-Builder is still my absolute favorite tool.
mgordon, is there any plans to have the map function automatically adjust to the direction your phone is facing, as well as locking it in so the current location is always centered on the map? I try to use it for navigation in a pinch and it doesn't work great.
I've actually heard this mentioned within the past week or so. I'm not aware of any specific plan - but I'm also not on the Mobile team so I wouldn't necessarily know. Happy to bring it up to the team, though. Just as an aside, little features like this are more likely to show up first in the Android app - at least historically - since it is much easier to push updates to the Play Store.
one little update I would like to see is o be able to track wheel mileage separately from bike mileage. rather than just pick your bike, pick your bike and the wheels for people who enter different wheels.
Yeah. The Gear function... Well, it basically hasn't been touched since it was first introduced. I'm hopeful that now that it's available on the mobile app, there will be SOME more incentive to improve it, but even though it seems like a simple little feature that would be so easy to improve, I unfortunately would probably not expect this one to be shown any love in the immediate future.
come on Strava, I can probably code this for you ;-)
I'm on premium. HR, no power. I'm not sure that I really use any premium features, but, like others have said, I'm happy to pay for Strava period. I upload all rides, most runs, and Nordic skis.
My request: make the training log & calendar more detailed. I'd especially like to see the suffer score (I assume this is pretty similar algorithm to TSS) included. It's nice to see how many hours I've trained in the week, but even more useful to know how many matches I've burned.
